Suggestions for Events?

So I'm going to meet Bill on Thursday as he's coming down to check out the venue and plan out things so before I do so, I figured I should ask from some suggestions on what you'd like to see at Dunedin Anime Day. Just any kind of events in general. The only thing I've really got in my mind that's definite is Cosplay Events, but are there any ideas that people would like to run by me?

Umm....Hare Hare Yukai Dance off thingy????? I guess that might go under Cosplay events though.

amv contest? Or just an amv screening?

I'm all for a cosplay event. Because I'm sure there will be enough of us. Just like the one in Auckland... except I'm not going to be in any dances. I refuse.
Unless there's a krump off. Then I'm in. (There should totally be a krump
off)

I'm liking the idea of an AMV contest. That'd be good.

I got really nothing planned in terms of what to do with cosplay events, I imagine it being something small like it was in Auckland. AMV Contest sounds good, it would also seem that Berry has us covered for an actual competition if there us one.

Essentially cosplay events would entail, a Catwalk, Skits and possibly dance performances if enough people are willing to do it. Really it's just a repeat of what Aurellion did at Auckgeddon.

Youmacon over in the US has some brilliant anime events that you could consider hijacking/getting inspiration from: http://www.youmacon.com/events.php .

I'm not sure if I can make it down (unlikely at the moment ;_; ) but I'm happy to bounce around ideas.

~ should totally be an AMV competition there.

~ Could consider doing a panel about what makes a great anime in your opinion, and some suggestions of what to watch.

~ Definitely do a catwalk, but expand on what happened in Auckland: have it so that as well as showcasing the cosplayers skills, it advertises the anime from which it is from.

~ maybe tentatively discuss the pros & cons of downloading and buying - get people to support buying so that the industry can flourish more.

~ have a dub vs sub war: which ones are better, as voted by the audience. If you get a stream of boos for the dubs, then get people from the audience to try and be better than the dub.

Already covered by Madman. I'm unsure if we have control over what gets screened or not though.

I remember once i saw something from madman where they asked what people would like to see at screenings but that was a few years ago XD XD

So I've discussed things with Bill, because everything is occurring within the one room essentially we are given it basically limits the amount of events we can have since we pretty much can only have one event happening at any given moment.

So we have to figure out what events we'd really want to do and how long it would probably take.

Personally I like the idea of having the pros and cons of purchasing anime panel and probably the What makes a good anime one as well. In terms of cosplay, I think we probably only have enough time to do one event at the end of the day so we'd have to figure out how much we can pile up into that event

However as I have no cosplayers at all. I'll just basically say, if anyone is interested we need to round up around 11:30am and discuss what to do.
