ummm ... is it really that difficult to navigate your way around auckland??? == i mean from anzac ave isnt that difficult ... if youre going uphill youre going to uni ... to downtown is go downhill and turn left at the traffic lights and walk straight ==

lol, nah, it's not that hard in auck, but i've certainly got stuck on the motorway by missing the exit more than a few times.

but i've also got a nice flash gps i 'FINALLY' got working properly with nz maps only last weekend, so still in the playing and showing it off stage. :)

XD lol those things piss me off so much the voice is so annoying ... but then again i am more than capable of reading maps and i hardly ever get lost unless i fall asleep on the bus and miss my stop or something XD

heh, i don't have a problem reading maps either. it's usually just when i end up in the middle of somewhere going 'where the hell am i'? i LOVE that bit about gps's. automatic location plotting. :) either way it's a new toy and it's fun. ;) hehe.

Once you're at Anzac Ave it's fine, but we kept walking past its different entrances without realising that was the street we wanted sweatdrop

We ended up across the street from Vector Arena before we found a map on a bus stop.

Oooh shiny GPS XD I've never actually seen or used one before.

You lucky ppl being able to read maps! I'm okay, but I have trouble orienting myself LOL

lol well I have no sense of direction in terms of what is north or south etc, so I have to flip the map a bit to get the lines to match the streets in front of me XD And I took geography for 3 years.........

I bet the gps map can get distracting though! Or not, I just occasionally have a short attention span so I would be 'oooh shiny'....and then crash and burn XD But seriously I don't understand how my mum could drive and have my brother and I yelling and talking to her in the back seat when we were little.

heh, nah it's actually pretty good. no more distracting than looking at the speedo or the clock on the dash. plus in 3d view you can see as the streets are coming up no the map. i haven't actually tried driving a route after plotting it yet, so dunno if the voice thingi actually works or not. its' even got lil 3d buildings of key buildings, like in wellington it's got the train station, beehive, and parliament buildings with lil 3d building that appear on the map. :) hehe. i like my new toy.. much more now than when it wasn't working properly. grr. :)

yeah, it was complicated somewhat by the fact it wasn't actually released in NZ. i bought the Australian release and then messed with it enough to get NZ maps on it. :) but the end result was worthwhile. :)

But if you've got the skills to do that, why not. I on the other hand still have trouble setting up the playstation (2) to play imported games (although to be fair, for some reason it's messed up and even my bro can't get it to work now).

Haha my mum wants to buy one to do some sort of treasure hunt. Her American friends to it over there and they've released it here now too. Apparently there are little boxes or something plotted on the GPS and you go round finding them. In the real life boxes, you take something inside and swap it with something equal. Sounds fun but man did it crack me up when she told me!

Some of her friends in California say they hate them because they won't shut up hahaha. It plots a route, they know an easier way, and it yells at them they're going the wrong way. They're very much the husband's toys lol.

LOL, yeah, it's called Geocaching. I've thought about whether it's worth checking it out or not, been going in NZ for a few years.
