Big Day Out- Who is going?

Okay I am not sure if this really counts as a gathering or whatever but I was just wondering who else is going to BDO next year??

Im going with some friends and am uber excited about it.

Never appealed to me. It probably never will either. I don't see what's fun about going to a place packed full of people to listen to bands that kill my ears.

(I don't listen to English music much xD).

My sister likes to go to it though xDD.

I've never been, not keen to really - I'd hang outi n the boiler room with every other sweaty raver in the country, and I'd probably catch something. Blechh.

I think most of my weekend was made by friends though. Back then, I was real close with a lot of industry people and lol... Enough said ;3

Sounds awesome, I wish I could have gone!

I agree the line up isnt great but there are some bands going which I wanna see.
Plus my parents are paying for my ticket so yeah... xD

Orly? Whats her actual job there? I used to know a few people there but I think they've moved onto TVNZ now. I knew Joel (presenter) and his girlfriend at the time, haha man, he's such a loser but totally hillarious.

Heh yeah I know a few there.

Mum is programming director of both TV3 and C4 so she gets awesome bonuses (like free concert tickets) which me and my sis tend to take full advantage of xD

Wah fun! I knew more presenters and people from the music side of the company ^^
I never got free tickets - lucky you! But I got tipped off about certain events and info before they hit public, and got more chances to meet bands/people I wanted to. We even stayed in the same hotels sometimes. Connections ftw *highfives*

I wish I went when Tool was there - apparently it was epic. >_> The lineup's not interesting enough for me to pay that much money though.

it was I waited 5 shows before to get to the front o.O
but it was worth it I yelled out to Maynard "I want you to have my broke back babies" XD

I won't be going this year - nothing interests me except Neil Young, and over $100 for him ain't worth it, esp with The Who, Maiden, and Wacken next year :)

I went in 04 (Metallica), 05 (System of a Down), 06 (Iggy and the Stooges - Iggy gave me a hug and let me sing with him!) though, and had a great time. Non metal festivals don't really do it for me anymore, though. I'm such an elitist.
