[Hamilton] Hamilton Gardens Shoot

Hello! I'm going to Hamilton Armageddon this year (I'm from Auckland) and I was thinking it would be really cool to have shoots at the Hamilton Gardens!

It is really beautiful with gardens themed from around the world such as: Japanese, Chinese, American and English. If you havnt heard of the Gardens, here's some pictures:

My idea is to get together with as many cosplayers and photographers as possible and have shoots going through the day in the different gardens. It would be lovely to have a picnic there as well.

It would best be the day before or the day after Hamilton Armageddon I think. That is, either the 24 or 27th May.

I havnt organised a photographer or anything yet, but I'd really like to know if anyone is interested. I know its tough with accommodation costs, transport and for those who are also going to Wellygeddon, but I think it would really be a lot of fun ^^

What do you all think? Any opinions from Hamilton cosplayers?

That place looks amazing!! *_* I would love to shoot there! I vote the day before Armageddon because a lot of people will be knackered afterwards

Yea i think I'd like the day before as well. It would be a fun lead up to Geddon ^^ Comp people might want to be sewing up to the last min though.

I'm up for either or. I've got a friend who is doing photography in year 12 atm but I don't know if she would be able to take the day off school.
But a more likely option is my mate Georga (noob) who is an amazing photographer and takes all my cosplay photos. I'm sending her the link for this and I'll see what she has to say about it. She will want to cosplay too though, and fair enough, the woman is making a beyond awesome new Tomb Raider Lara Croft cosplay, so I can just take hold of the camera and pretend like I know what I'm doing when it comes time for her to take photos.

As a local, do you have any recommendations in the ways of transport from Claudelands Arena to the Gardens? I think most people from outside Hamilton will be staying near the venue.

Its not advisable to walk to the Gardens unless of course you're staying close to the area...

Buses do run to the Hamilton Gardens.

Though if its possible it might be best to drive or something along those lines if you were planning on leaving in the late afternoon as the last bus leaves the Hamilton gardens at 14:50 (2:50 pm)

If worst comes to worst I'd be more than happy to drop people off to their place of accomodation at the end of the day, provided it's not further than a half hour drive. You can all just pay me back in *cough* favours *cough* X3

If my mate can get school off, she really wants to come down to be another photographer as well, so we will have two photographers along with anyone else who wants to take photos (I don't think anybody has said anything about wanting to be photographer, so I'm just assuming it's my two friends lol)
