Christchurch Santa Parade 2011

Is anyone interested in taking part in the Santa Parade again this year?

The parade is on Sunday the 4th of December, it starts at 2pm

Meet at my place 28 Shand Cresent at 12pm OR at 1pm at where ever the starting point is on Wharenui Rd.
This year my house is just down the rd from the parade, so great for stashing stuff, getting changed at or parking your car.
I'm going to see if I can get the truck to park outside my house to decorate it before the parade starts.

You need to be in costume to participate, though we do need two walkers to walk alongside our truck who do not need to be in costume. Everyone else can either ride on the truck or walk alongside.

Michelle: You can be any character. It's better to choose something more recognizable OR something that's distinctively a cosplay.

Depending if I can get there I might be able to come. No idea what/who I'll be but that doesn't really matter at this stage.

I've got a cosplay in my head that I want to do so I hope I can come. I just need to figure out how to make it. i just talked to mum and she said I have to do the parade, so that means I'm coming!

If I can work it out I'll come as Sakura (I know right? Predictable) in this battle costume:

I actually don't own a Kero plushie, so that would be great if I could borrow it, if I go as Sakura. I know my mum is great isn't she?!

I also have 2 cosplays that people could borrow if they wanted. My Belle one (from Beauty and the Beast) and my Stellvia of the Universe school uniform.

Yup, no worries if you gonna be her I'll bring him (and Mandie's Ash Cosplay rofl).
We could pin him to your shoulder strap or you can just hold him xD

So going as Sakura (can't find a wig for the other one) so I will borrow Kero. I bought some fabric and self cover buttons so I can start things rolling this weekend (hopefully).

It's on December 4th, so, for what appears to be the first time ever, I may have to plan ahead, and actually come up with a costume design. As to whom I shall go as, I am as yet uncertain.

I have said to the parade organizers that we are attending and also have updated the first post with a list of those who have expressed interest.

Ah, I just got a notice about it shoved in my letterbox.

It's at 2pm on December 4th, starting from Wharenui Rd and along Riccarton Rd until it reaches Mandeville St.
[ Is it just me, or is that a really short parade?? ]

Me and one other would love to cosplay in it, but have no idea what to be at such short notice >_<

Eeeee, suggestions anyone??

For suggestions - what do you like? There are a few easy cosplays around that you can make out of 2nd hand clothes or I know that me and some other people have spare costumes they're willing to lend if you're careful with them.

If you want to go that route you're welcome to pm me or the others if have said they have spare cosplays to lend for sizing options.
