Once it's confirmed, we will need to tell the organizer who is coming/register the people. I believe not too sure, that to register you should be wearing a costume/steampunk wear? Though details like this will be confirmed when/if the event is given the go ahead.

If you are interested, please post, as this would help the event get the go ahead.

Hrngh. Want this event so bad. I will bring a camera and soak it in the deliciousness.

I've been contacted by Tami also and finally got a reply in :) If all goes ahead I can help with costume quickie ideas or even with dressing people. I have about three proper full Victorian dresses I can fix up for women of approx my height (green Velveteen, cotton and velvet, shot lime green, and a cotton 1830s dress.)

I've been involved with a number of historically themed picnics so would be pretty keen to get a group together for that also :)

btw, may 22 happens to be the 10 year anniversary of my Rheumatoid Arthritis trigger event so I really need a good positive distraction ;) Playing dress ups definitely counts!

And I know one of the tram operators we may be able to go round and round on the trams Very Happy

Yep :) Spoke with Tami so it looks like I'll be getting involved :) Just need to put in a more solid plan. But it looks like a workshop for making clothing will be something I can offer :) As well as helpf or the costume display ;)

On that note is there anything in particular people would find useful? I have a plan for a basic skirt and bodice fitting, with enough info for customising for era. Basically to demystify this whole historical costume lark. It is different but once you know a few techniques it is much easier.

Mainly for women but I do have patterns for men and could look into a quick guide. Well as quick as "the lines are much simpler for men but then you get all those tiny facings and such".


There will be a huge resource list so there may be a small charge for printing of them.
