Dying help
Post By Rosenquarts. 30/04/11, 08:05 am

I recently brought some fabric dye and its for a top loading washing machine. Since I am very afraid of wrecking the machine and giving other clothes a nice black tinge, is it possible to use the mixture under hand dye instructions or do I have to buy a packet specificly for hand dying?

Ooh, I just used washing machine dye myself : D it was for a scarlet red

Basically, after you use it, bleach the hell out of the washing machine on a hot cycle. If you still see some colour remaining on the machine, just hand wash it out with bleach and water :3 I didn't wreck the machine, and it hasn't effected the rest of out washing <3

I can't help you with hand dying unfortunately ^^;; hope this helps?

The instructions are complicated and I don't know if the machine has the right cycle.
I also asked to see weither it could be done on the website and they say they dont sell top load dye as it wrecks and spreads through the machine. I was confused.

You can always just hand dye it. Dye is dye, it doesn't specifically need a washing machine, it's probably just easier to use with a washing machine, that's all.

if it wants a warm water washing machine, do it with warm water, let it soak for several hours, Cold water machine with cold water, etc. Just go by vague instructions and pretend you're using a washing machine Razz.

I s'pose the dye to water ration might be different in a bucket, but unless you only want a light dye job, it shouldn't matter.
