ok people wind has reached me that lots of people wants to do an event again for DO

if anyone could give me any ideas and we can work through them

no it doesnt have to be a dance its an event so any ideas are welcome =3

atm I'll most probably choreographer a dance to a catchy song

Possible songs atm:
Rock the LMC - LMC
Light Camera Action - HALCALI

A Street Story - RSP

and some ideas from last year

Misa no Uta (Berry-Chan)

dance off thingy is ok i think ... but seong was really hoping for something other than a dance event as well so ... if we could maybe have the quiz thingy as well?

lol considering the fact that i know ALOT of people going who all HAPPEN to be my mates hahaha i think theyll be alot of otaku there especially since this event is sponsored by GNC which is a place for anime, manga and anime goods =3

Its still in planning but our quiz questions aren't *that hard, and we're hoping to use a screen, music, and props so it wont be just talking XD

I thought the cosplay chess that was at H!acp turned out to be pretty fail.
It takes far to long to get one game down and everyone looses interest and starts f*ing around 0.o

It depends on how its organised. That one was winged lol.

We're planning to do one in chch, but we're going to pre-script it, so there's no waiting around, just moves and battles. Also we'll be able to control how long its going to take since we already know how long it took to play and the outcome Sly

Yeah i could never make it through an entire cosplay chess game, i have too shorter attention span and would probs end up running off to chase a butterfly or something....O.o

1) Get say like, 10 people.

2) Assign them a random character from a random anime - helps to have name and a picture printed out before to give to them.

3) Get the people to draw out a piece of paper from a hat. There will be 10 pieces in total, and 2 sets of numbered pieces from 1-5. This is so they can match their numbers up and find a pair.

4) They are now a pairing! (Boy x boy and girl x girl pairings can happen here! Even furry animal x human!)

5) The 5 pairs now have to do a small activity/game to demonstrate their teamwork. It can be something to do with keeping an egg balanced (might be a bit messy, only an idea) for an amount of time.

6) The winner get a prize! If there are finalists then they have to do it again, or give them a different activity to do.

7) Restart the game with different people! We can also have a cosplayers ver. and an audience ver. Cosplayers can be the character they're cosplaying. Audiences can get assigned a character. Please no Naruto or Bleach for them. It's boring. :/

Once you get an idea of the time limits (me thinks that it shouldn't be too much of a problem since most of the time is browsing and buying artwork) can you tell us if that's OK?

lol i like your idea ... BUT i think im going to change the event to rock paper scissors, japan style =D

so when they do rock paper scissors who ever loses has to cover their head or be hit. The person who is hit without the helmet loses. If the person gets the helmet on in time, they do it again until someone loses then it continues until only one person wins =3

For quizes- At the last con I attended in the states there was a "Guess the theme" where an opening or ending of a well known anime as played and players had to buzz in to guess. I only saw the last round, but I think they started with 10 and eliminated them to two...

It was amazing that they got that far. Neither recognized the Gurren Laugann theme although half the audience was imitating Simon....

ok me been thinking and we might go with the idea that Alice came up with except it won;t just be one event

it'll be a like a mixture and they write answers on a sheet of paper

and does anyone remember from DO 2007 how they were handing out slips of paper for the guess the anime song thing.

we could hand out registration forms at the entrance of the event and there's a deadline to which they can sign up

Potential events:

Round 1: Guess the anime song (super popular one ...)
Round 2: Guess the anime character and anime (show picture)
Round 3: Guess the seiyuu (Play clip ... will use a super popular seiyuu)
Round 4: Guess the anime/manga genre

Last round: Jan Ken Pon (Hit and Cover ver.)

Basically it will be a really simple one with not too many rounds and only one winner (hence the jan ken pon)

of course there will be a timelimit to when they can answer the questions (maybe 15 - 20 sec) and elimination based on ... was thinking must get only one wrong and eliminate ... but might be too harsh ... depends on the timelimit given ... and how many people we have ...

btw i need to submit this idea by the end of march ... so please discuss?
