Beatrice Pattern and fabric help By moonlight293. 17/11/10, 02:36 am |
| Ok, so I've gone insane and have decided that over summer I want to try and do the Golden Witch Beatrice (since I wouldn't have any time to do it afterwards). My main problems are thus: -What kind of pattern for her corset should I get? It looks two-toned, or at least nothing that I have found in any corset pattern I've seen! -What kind of fabric should I use (for the top layer, at least)? I have seen velvet done before but it didn't seem to give the right look.

| I'm going to be unhelpful and go for delustered satin because an absolutely beautiful sheen, expensive and to get in the right shade of brown not easy and is a smarmy wrench to work with :3
That or dupion silk :3 |

| silk would be awesome but very expensive. As for the corset you'll probably have to modify it slightly to get the two tone, but that shouldn't be that difficult.
I'd say check for some online reviews before you buy your corset pattern though, because I think quite a few of them are extremely bad like pattern sizes don't match up and they're really hard to follow etc. |

| Also there is the name escapes where the silk itself is dual tone i.e the colours are mixed to give an amazing look |

| @kagerouhi Haha, thanks! >3 Unfortunately money is a bit of an issue for me atm, but I'll make sure to check those out! ^__^ Ah, I think I know of the two-tone fabric you're talking about! Not sure if that's what I want, but I'll look at it anyway :3
@Casey Sure thing! xD Cotton sateen sounds about right, just through looking at google images. I'll have to check all of these out at spotlight for comparison :3
@azeria Yea, I'll see how much my budget can be stretched haha! Thanks for the tip though! I've never made a corset before, so I would be in the poo if the pattern I got wasn't good! xD |
