| Most english VAs are decent people... cept a few.
Japanese VAs are just lol (read Minorin's blog. It's so funny). That and its extremely hard to find a pic of Sugita (Kyon's VA) not doing a retarded face. |

| Out of curiosity, how many people here can actually speak Japanese? I can't, so I tend to watch dubs because of that. I see automatically hating the dub without giving it equal chance is kinda ignorant.
I can read subtitles but I usually watch Anime in English first due to not having to read, then I watch in jap. |

| Cool, I'm just curious because I know a lot of people who know nothing about the language and only watch it in jap. I did try studying it at Uni and such, but I didn't do so well ^_^;
To be honest, it kinda comes off as them being all elitist and such x.x I mean, if it has no dub then fair enough ^^ But I like to give the dubbers a couple of episodes, and I only stop with the dub if several voices annoy me. Because if one voice can ruin a show for you then that's kinda silly, unless it's the main character xD |

| Japanese!
English dubbing sounds so odd to me now. D:
also, the funniest dubbing you'll ever hear is Laputa, Castle in the Sky. roflll@Australian accents and horrific translations. >.<

The only time ever that I've actually had to stop watching a dub and switch to sub ever was because of one minor character's voice. -is silly-
They sounded awful~ Their voice was really deep and strange. So I switched to Japanese, and found that, despite the fact that I disliked the rest of the cast's voices in Jap., his was perfect. xD |

| To be honest, I usually do both. Some anime sound better in JP (Fate/Stay Night, Mobile Suit Gundam, ect) but some are better in English (Hellsing, Speed Grapher, etc). I however watch a majority in Japanese. |

| Not only is it a lot more authentic to watch anime in Japanese, but you also manage to pick up some of the language here and there. I mean, there are things that don't translate well (or at all) that you pick up by watching anime (like 'itadakimasu'). |

Re: Japanese or English Voices? By Zeb. 27/07/09, 02:47 pm |
| Biased poll. There should also be a "don't care."
Ahem... older generation anime I prefer the Japanese. Newer generation anime, well, I listen to both and find strengths and weaknesses in both. Won't be a snob and say Japanese again, cause that would be doing dis-service to some of the professional English voice actors, who really are quite good. |

I watched Chobits and FMA in english because that's what I had available.

| i think CardCaptors is one of the funniest dubbings ever. aside from Laputa: Castle in the Sky.
CardCaptors has pauses in the weirdest places. and Sakura sounds like a preppy Cali girl. D: |
