| heh, Wellington is closer for me. ;p buy yeah, our weather can be a bit variable. That said I've been in Auckland for some pretty bad weather too, and depending on the time of year humidity can be a major issue for Auckland if you get the wrong timing.
lol, banks are like puppy dogs, you feed them money, they give you affection (interest), and then every now and again for no apparent reason they make a complete and utter mess of everything then wag their tail and expect you to be happy. :)
But um, yeah, as long as you set up accounts correctly in the first place it's usually pretty sweet, and putting money in always counts in favour. :) |

| For the first one...probably Auckland. There's lots of stuff to do there...as far as I know (is from Palmy). No matter where it is there will be people who can't come for various reasons, you can't please everyone. But also remember that this is/may be happening over a year from now so that's plenty of time for circumstances to change too. |

EDIT: And I'm serious about both Auckland's rain and expensivness! I lived there! I remember the struggle to get laundry dry! You always had to set aside a day when you could be home all day, coz you couldn't leave it out on it's own coz it would guarunteed rain! |

| Well I must be lucky I've been to Auckland for a couple of weekends and it never rained. Don't forget if we hold it somewhere else it could easily rain there... you know? When we plan for this, we'll have backup plans for what to do if it rains... its not gonna be less fun, it just means we have to replace outdoor activities. Ideally it wont rain =D
And the idea was to have it held in different places each time anyway. I dont care where its held, as long as the decision is decided fairly and not based on biases etc.
Well Auckland was suggested cause of more people and attractions- but attractions = $$ also there were more cosplayers at wellygeddon this year then ever before no? numbers and money are most important factor.
To decide its probably best for a poll vote that way everyone can vote... (whatcha think Duckeh?) and is there any more pro-con's of auck/welly/other places? |

| I'd suggest a double poll. First choice, and second choice, it should give a bit more balance, with people having to choose somewhere else for the second poll, or "Can't make it" as the 4th option on second poll. Not sure if the figures would skew, but if a second choice location gets more than a first it settles it. |

| The only issue with a poll is MOST (although not all) people, will vote for somewhere nearest them, regardless of the other issues. Coz people are like that. :-D
Hopefully a double-poll would help alleviate some of that.

Well since South Island was having SCP we were gonna have it up here?
I'm not sure what that's sposed to mean... If this is suppossed to be a country wide event, does it matter where and when the smaller ones have been. And the SCP is in August (from skimming... didn't read the entire thread). There will be time for each individual city to have another coslay picnic the NZCG. |

Hopefully a double-poll would help alleviate some of that. Yeah... The place that wins will obviously be the place most of us can get to, regardless of the other issues, because if we can't get there then we won't really care what's going on. Double poll sounds good =D |

Could you please list attractions in your particular area? Like spookers etc. So we can get an idea about what there's to do around you.
I know I'm biased but I just want everyone to enjoy themselves... So please~
x.X' I mean. People who are travelling to SCP [like myself] will want vairety, no? I'm just saying. At SCP we will have done alot of stuff that most people want to do down there. Unless you suggest other things which is what I'm asking for. |

Re: [CNZcon] ~HUGE~ NZ Cosplay Weekend Event By Guest. 25/05/08, 10:28 am |
| Fun stuff in Wellington: Te Papa Shopping Botanics is really great for taking pictures Zoo Karori Wildlife Sanctuary Cruises out to Somes Island and Kapiti Island City and Sea Musuem. There is hireage of canoes, boats and skates down on the waterfront and rockclimbing at the same place. I happily spend a day chilling out down at the waterfront and I live here and have seen everything! Countless other events that might be going on at the time (whichever time we pick) - special exhibits at museums and other places and the like.
Major advantage of Wellington that pretty much everything is close enough to walk to from pretty much everywhere else, even some of the closer suburbs.
But I don't WANT to go see attractions when I'm in a country-side gathering! (I'm stating my opinion here, not saying that it's everyone elses opinion.) I want to play silly games, and speed dating (despite already having a boyfriend) and go to classes on how to make hand embroidery not look like it was made by a five year old, and classes on how to judge and another class on how to design a pattern from scratch without using expensive software, and meeting people and getting on a 60 hour sugar high and howling at the moon! |

| I think I agree with u_ne_korn about the attractions. The whole idea of this is to meet people right? Perhaps if we did one main attraction as a group (e.g. something like rainbows end kind of big-ness) and left the rest of the time for some random games etc as u_ne_korn suggested. (also just stating my opinion ) Although, we must have a picnic in a park somewhere! I can see hours of randomness occurring during a picnic... |

| Hahaa~ Running round the chick at ACP~ 8D
Trust me on this, you can have as many games as you like but they're going to get boring at some point. There's going to be those little groups who will sit on the side. I know this is about us getting to know each other... I'm not debating it. I'm just saying.... There needs to be other things happening so people have an option~ I'm not saying we'd got to an attraction a day~ It's just nice to have options, no? A break is always good~ >.<
:3 I know if I hadn't gone to spookers with Angie & Berry I wouldn't know them as well as I do now~ Hehe~ EPIC times! <333

I totally get what you mean, *cough* Drag Queen Lord (srsly? XD) Diversity is good, games are epic but you really do need breaks.

I guess =D Although, if I was a bunny wabbit it would be more like "Lorrdresth ofth drawg". The teeth, oh the teeth.
The last zoo I went to was Oakland Zoo in California XP
