White Makeup? By Rowan. 18/03/08, 01:56 am |
| I'm going to be cosplaying this year as Ichigo's inner hollow (from BLEACH), who has completely white skin!
I know there is makeup out there that can acheive this look, and i've even found the name of good brands etc on cosplay.com, but I don't have any idea at all where to look for it.
So if any of you guys know where I might find some, I'd appreciate your help! |

| xD Or flours, but not flowers. I had to wear flours for my theatre group~ Surprisingly, it worked, but I don't think for a high-energy activity sweat-worthy convention cosplayey thing that it would achieve the same results. :) |

| any places that sell general makeup, sometimes its surprising that you can find exactly what you need at some unexpected place. could go into a pharmacy or something and ask them? Maybe ask a drama student/teacher of any shops that sell stage makeup and the like? I asked my acting friend on where to go to get something and she gave me contact details ^^ so yeah you never know.
lol flour *imagines*
OH BABY POWDER! no seriously someone suggested that somewhere and it kinda... worked oO' |

| *random googlesearch later*
2 places in NZ that sell proper FacePaint with prices that don't look too bad, and a site related to Poi & Fire-twirling (also NZ surpisingly enough). Pele's and other comments on the Poi site are probably worth reading regarding water/grease/petroleum based and sensitive skin.

| I don't know the answer on that one, I'd guess it should dry out reasonably well, but pass. I did also consider mentioning the idea of finding out who the local clowns are (literally). The performers that do clown shows must use the white stuff all the time and would have a pretty good idea on supply and things like rubbing onto fabrics etc. Assuming they were prepared to give some free advice that is.

| Could try bleaching / powder ? Although that said you might just be easier covering them in paint aswell, not sure how it would go though. |

| To avoid rubbing of makeup onto clothes/other people - you can buy setting sprays from Minifies, and probably other places too. Have a look at the Minifies catalogue, it's amazing! And makes one want to BUY! For NO REASON!! |

Re: White Makeup? By Rowan. 22/05/08, 11:33 am |
| Yeah the Minifies catalogue is great, lots of professional stuff (well professional looking as you can probably tell I really have no idea being the starter of this thread in the first place lol). And setting spray is a good idea. I'll definitly be getting some, as all the threads on cosplay.com etc recommend it. |

Re: White Makeup? By Auroa. 22/05/08, 11:47 am |
| I got stuff from minifies (lol it is clown makeup), its like thick thick paint, really good, but it rubs on to everything... that setting stuff sounds like a good idea. Also it can be hard to get off, unless you use the right stuff.
Yes... note to self read instructions before putting it on, so you don't realize after that you dont have the right stuff to take it off ;; lol.

| Do you just take it off with normal makeup remover or do you need something else? Oh and how did the clown makeup work for you (do you mean that supracolour stuff?)? Coz I was thinking of getting the white aquacolour stuff from minifies... |

Re: White Makeup? By Auroa. 22/05/08, 12:14 pm |
| Um... probably make up remover but I dont know, see I didn't have any at home at the time so I was stuck with a full on white face for the whole day fun hahah. Um let mee see what its called... Ben Nye Clown White. Oh it says quick cleanse and soap and water to get it off. It was $18 and came in a big round thing (the width of a cup) lol ehh, cause I just went into minifies and asked them "how can I make my face pure white" so they said that stuff. I've yet to experiment with it properly though, but from the first coat on my face yeah I was pretty clear/smooth white ^^;; |

| well it seems to be, the stuff I have anyway. Though it makes you feel like something is on your face (lol) ... kinda heavy and wet feeling >>' but it had the effect I wanted no cracks, no real skin colour showing ... just white, aside from going on everything... door handles, mouse, wig, black pants ;; |

| What you need is a sealer spray - I have the kryolan one - it's really good. If you're wearing the white makeup for auckgeddon, you can borrow it. :3 |
