Oh god. xD No, the first game is... well, in my opinion it's kind of terrible. >_<

There's no continuity in the story lines between each game, so you won't be missing anything by starting with a later game.

Yeah the first two games are just a complete different direction, i finished the first one, and it was ok in its own right. But 3 and 4 broke the mould completely.

If you like Persona you should try the Digital Devil Saga and Devil Summoner games, they dont have the same kind of split, but SMT games are awesome.

I just recently got into playing P3P (3 weeks ago me thinks) and I absolutely love it. Even though I already know how it ends (epically), I still enjoy the game. It's sad however, that P3P removed the anime cut-scenes, so I was disappoint at certain events.

I am ever so busting to play P4 BUT all 4 of my PS2's just happen to remain broken after all these years, so I had decided in the mean time to get an .iso and emulate it. (I have the .iso, but my CPU runs it JUST a little too slow for my liking) When I get more money I am going to buy an old PS3 (Cause mine was stolen), make sure it's a backwards compatible one and buy FES and P4, so I won't be a nasty pirate forever!

One thing I really love in Persona is the 'maintaining-your-school-life'. Sometimes I love to take a break from P3's tedious skyscraper and just... Relax.

So yeah, I thought I would bite the bullet and move onto P3P and OHMYGOSH. Seriously.

This game is soooooooo much fun. Story and characters are a bit ehhhh, but I love the game mechanics and the structure of collecting Persona's and how the S.Link works.

Totes just played this all day.

In P3P, even though this is my second runthrough, I failed at maxxing all S.Links...

The FeMC has too many S.Links during school time... WHY CANT I JUST CALL THEM LIKE THEY CALL ME?!

Now preparing for Margaret/Theo battle...

I liked the story in P3 better too, and I also found the 'weather warnings' in P4 a bit unrealistic. I mean, how often are weather reporters always right? XD

Though I agree with Admin on the fact that P4 chars seem more likable; maybe it's because country people seem more relaxed lol.

P4 chars are more...real? P3 chars seem to me like they're always so extreme on one personality trait. o;

I'm currently working my way through Persona 4, the first Persona game I have ever played, I blame Alex for getting me into it, as it was his mafia game that got me started on it. Razz nodnod

This is my second playthrough as I quit halfway through the first time when I missed getting Kanji's social link, I hadn't been doing enough fusing and other stuff too. I've been playing for about a month now and have just rescued Naoto, going back into her world for training and to fight the optional boss there. nodnod I feel like I must be at least three quarters - one third of the way though the game right now, I mean I've clocked up over 80 hours on it already, lol. Surprised XD Is it me or this a really long game?

P3's story was way too 'HNNGH WE'RE GOING SO DARK AND OH GOD EVERYTHINGS SO BAD NOBODY LOVES ME'

I like P4's story a lot more because it kind of acknowledges how absurd everything is in a way.

@RainbowMoonDust: Oh no they are really long games. ^-^ I've spent over 70 hours on P3P and about 40 on P4 (I haven't been playing P4 so much)

P4's cover is very bright and I'd thought that was strange. But then I played it and Yellow is pretty high up on the awesome colour list. And it's actually a really dark game shrouded in mystery. Which I thought was pretty cool ^-^
