Squirtle progress! gloves and legwarmers are done.

I made the shorts and it wasn't until I had finished them I realized they were too small orz have to try again tomorrow. Not doing it again tonight.

Nearly finished my keyblade. 8D Just painting on the little spots on the handle, then I gotta hammer the nail into the bottom for the chain to attach to and it's DONE. ^-^

Gaara's new coat has finally been started. The fronts and backs panels are all sewn together, just need to sew in the sleeves, chuck on the collar then line it. Very Happy

I have just found THE most best ref picture I need for the 2 fiddley bits of my Eternal Moon cosplay!!! YIPPEE!!! It's hi res enough that I don't need to even zoom in to see the detail! Now most of the problems I've had with this part of the costume have gone away!!!!!!!!!!! cheers

i just got the pattern i'm going to modify for virgilia's monster of a dress, i have all my miria dress fabric + pattern;

it's base is foamboard, the bulk is expanding foam and i've filled in the porous holes with selley's rapidfilla, which was then sanded. IT'S SO SMOOTH.

So I bought fabric for rachels headband today and I'll use itto make any extras on her jacket as well and then get more of it to make the ACTUAL jacket, pants are different shade so I'll have to get something different for those.. I just hope it's not too dark or anything... unfortunately the thread I bought a while ago is too dark so I'll have to deal with that >>

I went to Spotlight today to try and find a few things. I was looking for a 15-20mm diameter round craft punch and some thick gold card but didn't find either but found actual sequins of that size that I'll use. I also found the perfect thing to use for part of Eternal Moons' headband feathers - teddy bear eyes in 3 different sizes!! I just need to cut off the screws in the back and paint them silver to make them perfect!! I'm so happy as I've been looking everywhere for something to use for them but didn't think to look in the teddy bear section.

I've also discovered that none of the sewing shops in CHCH have small flat silver sequins!!! I've been looking everywhere twice over but still no luck. I think sequins are just really hard to find here - I had to look in 2 different places to find some of the ones I need.

Gaara progress: coat is almost done. Fully lined with shoulder pads and zips in the sleeves!

Just need to hem it and hand sew the lining into place. Have been thinking about getting a new wig...one that perhaps isn't quite such a bright red XD
