Avatar!

... the last airbender~
So with the final book coming to a close in just over a week, and the movie coming out (2 years X_X so looooooong away!)
... I'm just wondering whose an avatar fan here ^^ (I know theres a few around.)

oh and before anyone says, yes I know its not 'anime' but its close, and just as good imo.

I love avatar so much, its got such a hmm simple yet fantastic storyline.
Its so funny how most the animals are half of one thing and another, like the chicken pig, Boar-q-pine, catowl.
Whats awesome is how the different martial art moves/poses were associated with the its own element. They definitely make for some interesting fights!

The characters have distinguishable personalities (lol sokka with his oh so sarcastic attitude) and not to mention their interesting pasts/backgrounds. I love all the characters =D and Zuko is like the bad guy but for a good reason...
The end of Iroh's side story, was sooo sad - specially since it was dedicated to Irohs former (now deceased) voice actor sad

Despite being a more 'kiddy-designed show' it does have some rather dark moments, especially the puppetmaster episode

The character interactions are so funny, which usually result in some pretty LOL moments, scenes and events.

any avatar fans here? Favourite characters? Pairings? Going to see the movie? Lol I wonder what it'll be like oO

I've been an avatar fan ever since my flatmates got me watching it way back in season one. I've been waiting for episodes ever since lol.

Its definately the best american animated childrens show i've ever seen.

What was Iroh's side story? i cant remember how it ended, any idea what episode it was? i need to re watch.

I cant wait for the end of this month!!! only 8 days to go before the next episode!

yay fans!

Iroh's side story is one of the 6 side stories in hmm the only (could be considered) 'filler' episode. The tales of Ba Sing Se - 215.

Spoiler:

the music, his singing/crying, and the fact that a second later it says "in honor of Mako" (the late VA) ... just makes the whole scene so moving ;-;
however the rest of the stories are more lighter on the emotions, lol like Aangs (who is as goofy as ever.)

Oh mannn I gota buy the book sets!
lol yeah I'm gonna marathon the final episodes, ahh to think its nearly over, its sad...

I almost wish Aang would fail again, just so they'd make a 4th season, book4 air~!! heh, even though drawing it out more could ruin it... sad

but now there is no chance of that, since the creators are working on the live action... and if they ever make a book 4 it will be unrelated to Aangs story, it would be neat, but I can't believe that it will be over in just 6 more episodes>_<

Heh, I plan to marathon them all at once, I think it will be about 24hours of solid avatar watching Very Happy

^maybe I should make an event of it? I'm sure some others are as crazy as me?

Lol yeah I thought there were gonna be 4 books too hahah, cause like if book 1 was water, 2 earth, 3 fire... theres 4 elements so really, there SHOULD BE 4!
love that logic.

but exactly, if they did that it would drag out... and I dont know how they could make another avatar without Aang and a different story oO

me either, even if it was set in the same world, it just couldn't be as epic... but then again, maybe we shouldn't underestimate the creators!, I guess it depends on nickelodeon too.. they haven't exactly treated avatar very well in the states..

Oh and I could probably have some people over here for a marathon, this house has a big lounge/dining area that comfortably fits about 15+ people (less if we're camping out, lol), but our tv is not very big...

Though i've already re-watched most of s1 and s2 while waiting for s3 to continue ~_~

i know the ep you mean, i was thinking of when iroh was in prison and couldnt remember what happened after he got out.

I think there definately will be a book 4, its so popular, why not? and im not worrried about them ruining it by gonig on too long either, unlike most other american shows.

From what I've read online, Aangs story will end at book 3, but the creators would like to make a book 4 in the avatar world involving new characters. I haven't looked for any news since before the last episodes/dvd was released in the us though, so there could be more news on that,
too bad it sounds like they will be tied up working on the live-action movies for quite a few years sad

---- I really hope the movies come out here on the big screen, I'll need to make an avatar cosplay to wear to them ^_^

I've loved Avatar since the first episode, too bad I always forget to watch it on Nick on Thursdays.

I wouldn't really like it if they dragged Aang into a fourth season, and I can't see another series set in the same world being as good. It just wouldn't be the same

Imho, Avatar is among the few and elite of non-comedy western animation. Too much animation that coumes from the westwern world is mildly entertaining crap like The Simpsons and Futurama. I wish there were more shows like avatar

Dont get me wrong, most western animation is funny. But on the same token it has the total inability to hold a storyline. I like storylines.

I just spent my last 3 days watching all the episodes~

And then I came to make a thread and -GASP- there's already one here~ excellent evil

I love AVATAR! It's my newest obsession. I can't wait for the next episodes~ And there's going to be a movie? Really? What's it of? I thought the final showdown was going to be spread across four episodes......

As far as I know there is going to be 3 movies, one for each 'book', and they're going to be live-action >_< tehehe, I'm sure its going to be really stupid, but I'm going to see it anyway! ~_~

its SOO well made! everything about it is BRILLIANT!!!

i remember the first time i watched it on tv... an hour episode and its was awesome! then you have to wait like half a year for the next ep!!! T.T

its gonna be sad when it finishes though... but guess thats a way off

their making a movie?

though they better make the fight scenes really awesome.

lol I remember that Sokka quote, along with this one:
"giant light beams, flying bison, air bending... I think I'm getting midnight sun madness, I'm going home to where stuff makes sense."

I just finished watching 16... wow Katara was so different oO
and lol been watching book 2 on tv... you can really see how much zuko's attitude has changed.
I read a interview about the final episodes, oh it looks like its gonna be so epic~ =D
