YORUICHI in zeeeee house!

I don't know how many threads I have made since I have signed up but I thought of making this one since I sorta' need to know what people think. I'm cosplaying as Yoruichi and I've made my mind up that I would be going as the Manga version with the black hair since the Wig is way to expensive for me >.< Yes I went for the cheaper alternative but who wouldn't?

So what do you think?

Hey, cosplayers aren't made of money (although I bet we all wish we were), so nobody'll think less of you for a choice like that as we've generally all made shortcuts somewhere with our costumes. If people feel happy to alter a costume to be more flattering/less revealing (something I've definitely done, myself), then it's fine to choose the manga version of something over the anime, and it would still be okay even if money had nothing to do with the choice. However, it's good to recognise that people may be more familiar with the purple hair, even though that doesn't have to affect your decision.

So I assume you'll just be using your own hair? Be careful with the way you style it as you don't want it looking half-arsed, which is something that wigs often help prevent. But go for it!

Yes everything that you have said is totally true. I tend to make sure that most of everything in my life is done right with only a little bit of work. Even though this is my first cosplay I don't want to come off lazy. I'll be using my own hair since its as long as Yoruichi herself, but I have to cut it because my fringe is way too long and is in need of a trim. I was thinking of dying it the purple of her hair but then I would have looked a little odd if I had done so when I was walking around the place after I had done her cosplay, so why not do the manga version that has her hair black (THANK Aizen that it is black, or whatever colour it is meant to be) and pull it off that way. Wigs do help a lot, but I'm one of those people that are fussy to the colour purple that the wig may be from where I get it from.

I want it to be as close to the purple of Yoruichi's otherwise its just gonna look wrong and half-arsed. I'm a perfectionist in many ways so I want to make sure that everything is properly done, not done with a lazy mood. I wish I had the money to get stuff but like you said, we aren't made of money..:)
