Is it useful?

They look so handy! <:

I have one but don't use it much, or at all really, anymore. They are excellent though!
Mine is one of the real cheap ones that run of cans of compressed air, which are actually really expensive, so it sits in a box somewhere now...

If you can get a half decent little compressor they work way better, also try and pick up a gravity feed one with the paint pot on top. They are way easier to clean and I've always found them to be way less of a hassle.
Dual-action is neat too (being able to adjust the paint and airflow on the fly) but from memory they get a little pricey, especially with the bigger name ones.

I one for quite a few years. It was electric and whisper quiet.
I used to use it mainly for Garage Kits and my Warhammer models.

On large garage kits I used it for everything. On Small or detailed Warhammer model I would use it to put a basecoat on and maybe for highlights afterwards - it's easier to repaint mistakes with a brush.

To basically put it, I would of been burried with it.
It takes practice to master, but is worth having.

Mmm, airbrushes.

Double action are the most amazing things I've ever used. They are so worth the slightly higher price. Agree on the gravity fed funnels, too. I just wish people would remember to clean the things THOROUGHLY after using them.

Compressors: expensive and a smarmy wrench. Every compressor I've used (usually large ones made for more than one brush/communal use) has had problems Neutral

I want to tryyy using one with a small compressor!

What jobs will you be using it for after your wings? If they're mostly small, and basic(ish) an airbrush which run on compressed air might be a better option than buying an compresser.

Also consider the noise it makes (some compressors have a dB rating) - my friend uses a compressor which he has to wear class 5 earmuffs for because it'sso loud.

Try to be careful with your selection - some airbrushes and tubing mightn't fit your compressor.
