A month is good. That gives me time to dig out some costumes and bring them in. (Yay losing weight~)

since it falls on the tues i was thinking about maybe doing it the weekend before hand (26th-27th) though i think that's the projected date for the 48 hour cosplay competition. ... I THINK WE SHOULD COMBINE CAKE, BIRTHDAY AND THAT MARATHON.

I shall have to pester my parents for money for a cosplay.. But with the moving house and all the money going towards that sort of stuff, I'ma be a bit stiff for cash. x.x

DCC sounds good, too. I'll see where I am in a month. I might be back in Queenstown, but I'd be happy to bus back for meet-up :) If I book ahead, I can get really cheap tickets.

Dear fifteen people who voted totally, ILU.

So are we going to have the 48hr cosplay thing/ Rikku's birthday as our first meeting then, or should we do something before then?
I actually just found out I have mid terms from basically tomorrow first period, so I'll be free after next week or so. When do uni exams end?

I think that we should get together at least once before my birthday, so we actually KNOW each other and there won't be any awkwardness. xD
For the 48 hour thing.. How're we going to work it? Like... Do we stay at somebodies house over the entire weekend? I'll be settled into my new house by then, where ever it may be(here's hoping it's a big house X.X(My parents are totally for it, btw. 8D They love my cosplaying xD)), so I'd be willing to put my house forwards for my birthday/48 hour cosplay thing.

But yes, I think we should have a meet up before, so we can all get to know each other. ^^

my exams finish june 23rd, so i'm not going to be up for anything before then. 8( you guys can go for it, though! i just happen to be unlucky to have an exam on the last day of the exam period.

I'm lucky enough to finish on the 12th, as I only have two exams.

I'm up for a meeting before-hand :) I'm a poor student with no car, though so bus route + not too much walking would have to be okay. I come from a town with a public transport system, so I'm used to walking everywhere :)

Did everyone want to get together for coffee/hot chocolate or meet in a park somewhere? I'm open to ideas, since I don't have that many myself ><"

Hot chocolate/coffee somewhere sounds good. =3 As does sitting in a park. I don't actually remember the last time I sat on grass and chatted. I don't even remember the last time I sat on grass. O.o

grass is also good. Are there any (soy milk carrying) cheap cafes near any parks?

There's a few shops near Garden's New World and I'm 99% sure there's some cafe's there. If not, there's UniMart which sells some Asian food and some amazing dumplings Very Happy

We could walk to the botanical gardens from there and pick a nice spot then, if you want.

Only thing is, that's North Dunedin, so it might be a bit far for some. I can't think of anywhere else there's a park + cafe, but then I don't know Dunedin that well.

Yays! It will probably be next because I think it should be easiest to sew. Having said that, I need epic ears and boot covers, or long green boots, so... that should be fun.

I haven't sat on grass like that for aaaaaages, since final exams last year when we studied in the park. So nice and relaxing. So much so we mostly fell asleep in the sun and didn't study.

It would seem to me that only four or five people are posting on this thread. noodles, Seraphik, mineself, iristigerlilly annnnd moonlight occasionally.
Does this mean that we are the only ones keen for it, or are people just sitting back and reading until they know when the date is? Cos the more, the merrier!! 8DD

SO! We've established the place, now we just need time and date. ^^
Any date works for me, really. I has no life.
But I was thinking.. What does everybody think of the first weekend of June? It's not too close, but not too far away, and not too close to my birthday. Sorta hovering somewhere in the middle. 5th or 6th of June.
Opinions? Comments? Suggestions? 8B

I'm just sitting by reading, waiting for a date, just as you say. I am fine with whatever, as long as it is on either Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday as I am busy every other day.

Same, Im keen but have a hellish busy work roster twisted

(I work almost every 2nd weekend, and half those times Im on nightshift), so the date is the most important factor as to when/if I come up from Invercargill. And that will generally apply for all DCC events -but if you try to coordinate around my timetable then this thing will never get off the ground! I reckon you should pick a date between you guys and then I'll let you know if I can make it.

Also, whatever you do, please make sure you make another meet around the time when Seraphik's free, since she started this idea. As the founder, she deserves credit for that. Even if it's after everyone comes back from the hols, as like you guys Im gonna go away for the Uni hols (- to catch up with my sister).

I'm good for the afternoon of the 6th! And we will definitely do something as soon as Seraphik's free, but it seems like that won't be until June 23rd. And we'll be doing the thing for Rikku's birthday/48hr Cosplay thing June 25th-27th so that's pretty soon after. IMO It would just be kind of weird to spend someone's birthday/an entire 48 hours with people you only just met, y'know? So having a meeting beforehand would make it a lot less weird, i think.
