What is it for and how much do you need to cover? If you only need to cover a small amount then make up such as lipstick, coloured eyeliner etc would work. That is what I used for my Nelliel Tu cosplay. (She has a reddish/pink streak across her nose and a big number 3 on her back). It might need reapplying a few times though.

A picture would help. nodnod

Take acrlic paint. Mix with Johnson and Johnson Clean and Clear. Paint on. Leave to dry. C&C evaporates very quickly compared to other moisturisers.

This is about the only moisturiser that it works with and I lucked into it. No wonder no one believed me when I said I used moisturiser and paint ;)

I used this for my Galadriel:

That was my 03 'Geddon Cosplay Entry. I really need to hunt out more piccies.. and in fact redo the breastplate so I can wear it again :) It lasted the whole day it flaked a bit between my fingers and where the plate rubbed against my arms.

Anyway. PAX requires a little more investment in the form of Pros Aide but it is well worth it-PA is used to adhere prosthetics and is non stinging and extremely long lasting. PAX stands for Prosthetic Aide and liquiteX- a specific brand of acryic paint. Equal parts mixed together.
But it does make for a very thick paint so is best for really heavy duty purposes. I like to mix in the J&J C&C to lighten it up a bit.

I'd recommend Kryolan or Aqua products as they do not flake or peel off and are water-based so will also allow your skin to breathe (are also applied wet with water and a sponge and/or paintbrush.) I have worn this for a couple of costumes and found it surprisingly hard-wearing. My friend also used this when she spent a long day as Plavalguna (the diva) from the Fifth Element Wellygeddon '08 and it lasted all day long.

Depending on the number of colours you are using however this may not necessarily be the most cost effective but is cheaper than make-up brands.
