Saxual Innuendo @ NZAE

As some of you may have noticed if you've read the lineup for the upcoming NZAC in Dunedin, Saxual Innuendo is scheduled to play at 10:45am in Theatre One on Saturday, shortly after the opening ceremonies of the event! I could list an infinite amount of reasons of why you should be there, but instead, I'll just talk a little about the band and what awesomeness you can expect.

What the hell is this faggotry, 'Saxual Innuendo'?
The band was started mid-2009, originally setting out as a saxophone quartet. We were all bored university students & wanted to make use of the instruments that had been kicking around since the end of high-school, so the band was quickly put together. We're hard to class because we're not solely a saxophone group-- but we're not a big band either, so we sit nicely outside the box! Currently, we have six saxophonists (one soprano, two altos, two tenors and a baritone), one trombonist, one trumpeter and a drummer, and all of our music has been written & arraned by ourselves.

We play solely videogame themes, with the exception of one or two anime tunes-- purely because putting a brassy spin on some old classics is pretty funky.

Who's in it?
Like mentioned before, we're all students in one form or another, or affiliated with the University of Otago. Musicwise, many of our members are involved in other band endeavors (such as the Otago Symphonic Band and Youth Orchestras) and one is taking Performance Music in Saxophone. <:

What are you playing?
If you come to our gig, you'll hear such classics as;

Pokemon – I Wanna Be The Very Best
Gameboy Colour - Pokemon Center Theme [Pokemon Gold]
Super Nintendo – Green Hill Zone [Sonic the Hedgehog 1]
Nintendo Entertainment System – World 1-1 [Super Mario Bros.]
Playstation – Main Theme [Final Fantasy 7]
Playstation – Fighting [Final Fantasy 7]

-- and perhaps a wee surprise or two that's yet to be revealed.

Either way, come along at 10:45 and enjoy the music of New Zealand's first videogame cover band!

we might do a CD if it's well enough received? hahas;dlfkj there's a studio up in radio one that does recordings, so. WHO KNOWS.

also we have 3-4 secret songs that'll be played on the day so you can only find out what they are if you come along! 8D

our only other performances have been as house bands on uni comedy nights-- we had 2 law students in the band last year and this year we have a 3rd year med student, so time is a premium. ;A;

Not sure of the crowd levels though... might be a short line.

Can't you still pre-order? If you can, is there any extra charges? Because iTicket charges you $6 for 'courier'. Bah.

I don't think iTicket is doing the post shop payment anymore(well, it's not letting me, anyway). I think you can still order by credit card? I don't know. =/

EDIT: I do hope that it's short lines. Just cos it's never been a really big event...
