Hi i am looking to purchase a secondhand medieval gown or dress for the auckgeddon ball. I have trawled through trademe and cannot find any within my budget, i am willing to pay up to 50 or 60 dollars. I belong to a Medieval/Renaissance group. Many of my friends have gowns that you could either purchase or borrow.

Your budget may be a tad small for such a dress-some can be pretty expensive-have a trawl around local op-shops or costume hire venues is all else fails.

The group is part of the SCA - the Society for Creative Anacronism. We are a part of a Kingdon called Lochac, and the area with the phone code 09 is the Barony of Ildhafn. :) We do costuming, feasts, dance, rapier, heavy fighting, anything that was done from the 600AD through to 1600AD. I have a wool dress based on a painting of Ophelia.

(on the left, to the right is Duchess Lochac- the SCA as mentioned has kingsoms and she was Queen at the time- this was just after Itried on the crown ;) )
Also a black dress with brocade belt and hanging sleeves:

This is it before the neckline was cut (wide v with a wide brocade trim)
I don't know if I have pictures of it as it is but as you are in Auckland you can pick either up any time, or meet somewhere convenient.
Pm me for price as I am happy to part with these for the price you mentioned and I may have some accessories to add to that for free ;) (belts necklaces..)
