Don't worry, guys, I'm half the heights of all of you so you only have to calculate for four and a half people! -shot-

(Plus, Sera has a short skirt. Gee, I hope that stuff is pleatable.)

Oh and uhhh what are we going to do about the join-up and cover-up buttons? >___>

ETA: Oh hey... looking at Cielo's outfit, I'm starting to think all the trouser-wearing characters are really just wearing those funnyshorts and the chaps. 8D;

Okay, I am gong to get 12 yards of this fabric. It looks quite light, so may only be suitable for the lighter parts of the costumes - it's cotton, so can be tinted darker for the other bits.

IF I BUY A SHETLOAD OF THIS - is everyone happy to use it? Let me know now please! I'm not too fussed on when you want to buy it off me, but please tell me now if you don't like it/want to use it. Very Happy

Edit: OMFG looking at each character art side by side there is no physics same shade of grey argh. I'll look at spotlight next time I'm there for grey sateen in a darker shade XP

Anyway, I did a tiny bit of research...

I've toyed with the idea of producing a Gale costume, but I'm not sure that my skill level would allow me to produce anything satisfactory, but I can share at least my starting thoughts with you, I suppose....

I would imagine that I would choose to start by finding patterns that I could then mutilate into what I wanted... mostly because I wouldn't have a clue to start without at least a basic pattern for the pants and coat. Where I begin to run into problems is with the material itself (Vinyl comes to mind, but I know nothing about fabrics... terribly sorry.) which has to be fairly rigid since it is body armor... and then all of the details all over the costumes.

The cosplay I linked to was made of vinyl... I think? 8D; It looks good but I'm guessing there are problems with using vinyl? |D

It does look okay, but the problem with vinyl is that it tends not to sit as nicely as cotton, or other lighter fabrics. That ones looks a bit "crunchy", and doesn't look like clothing should. I was thinking sateen because it has a slight shine to it, and is a really easy fabric to work with, as well as being nicely priced.

@Admin I'd expect vinyl to be slightly difficult to work with and doesn't always look good with all cosplays >____> The one you linked to is well made but it looks a bit... not quite gaudy but... idk. something. ;;; I still think it's something stiff and cotton-based with a sheen but not quite vinyl.

@Static Try using [this] as a reference instead of the pictures. The saturation or something are all inconsistent wherever I look. 8D

Well I drew the breakdown but... oh man I didn't even think of it as a unitard underneath. Guess it makes sense though, since Sera seems to be wearing a dress instead of a skivey and skirt. ;;;

Much I want to cosplay from DDS and be a part of this group, WellyGeddon is a week after ChChGeddon and DDS costumes are stupidly complex. So even if I do go to WellyGeddon, there's no way I'll have the time to make Serph.
