PLaces that I can find swans in Wellington?

I went on a bike ride today and there was a lake, with loads and loads of black swans. I managed to collect about 45 decent feathers, which is great! The more I find, the less I have to buy.

So does anyone know where I could go to find swans in Welly? Black swans are fine, they have white flight feathers, which I am looking for~

Not sure off hand, but you could trying ringing Forest & Bird. Apparently their main office is based in Wellington and they should have a pretty good idea of where the local populations are. :)

I think the wildlife sanctuary in karori has swans.

Tons in the bay just outside of Whitby, if you're able to get out that way.

Are you looking for just plain white feathers or all types or patterned? I'm allowed to pick up some stray feathers on the Savannah at the Zoo when I'm servicing the enclosure and might be able to get some depending on what you're after.

I'm sure I can make an expedition out to Whitby at some point.

Hmmm, I'll see what I can get out there. Most likely the best I can get in that section is grey-ish feathers and that depends on how much the Brolga will molt. I won't be on the birds section until June, sorry. D:
