Cosplay Storage~

So I was thinking, most of us here would have wigs, platforms, weapons, costumes and materials yet to be used. . .
WHERE DO YOU PUT THEM ?

They surely can't fit in your room . .I know my stuff doesn't and I've only done a few cosplays so far.
I've stored them (temporarily) in the double-closet in the spare/student room which is currently fortunately unoccupied.

;_____; Bits and pieces are scattered around my room and fabrics are in the roof.

Where do you store your cosplay stuff, and do you have trouble putting it somewhere safe/won't get damaged ?

I luckily moved to a larger flat this year with bigger rooms so everything fits, my crazy wigs sitting on my closet with all my cosplays hanging up.

& there's a nice spot on my wall for my Ulti wings~

Mine are all in my room 8D Except for Sakura which is in the spare room =P

My cosplays are all hanging in my wardrobe, material in these large 40L bins I have. Styled wigs are on wig stands/heads atop my bookcase, unstyled in one of my draws.
Patterns, paints, randoms and in progress cosplays are in another draw.
My Paper Plane hat and Vocaloid Headphones are on teddy bears/cd racks.

...My room is really cluttered >__>

Wigs are in a bag (wigs are in a bag in a bag, really xD). Costumes are in my wardrobe, and material is in a box/starting to flood my floor OTL. I don't really have any props, so that's not an issue atm. I have material in these plastic draw things too.

I'm also about to turn my sister's old room (she finally moved out 8D) into a sewing room, so I'll start storing stuff in there 8D

Let's see...

-Raikov and Beelzemon are at my father's vineyard, in a container
-Dante, most of Motochika, and Saku are upstairs in my attic
-Fai is on my mannequin, Frankie
-Part of Alphonse is in my room
-The other part of Alphonse, Grelle, Yuri and the beginning of my Tidus cosplay are in my mum's room
-Most of my wigs are in a box in my room, except for my Grelle wig (Frankie's wearing that) and my Ling wig (on a wig head)
-My cosplay shoes are in various places around the house
-The beginning of my Caterina cosplay is in my living room

And prop wise...

-Rebellion is in my room
-My Beelzemon wings are in a cardboard box in the aforementioned container
-My Cerberus is in a suitcase in the attic
-My anchor is in pieces around the house
-My Kamina shades are on top of the CD player

My Quadropus is prolly my biggest prop. IT HAS NO ROOM. It's currently sitting on the sofa after the weekend's event xD. Before that it was squished into my wardrobe C:

Maybe Quadropus would enjoy being in the greenhouse, it looks pretty planty

Arg, storage is such an issue with costumes! I have some hanging up on a wardrobe stand, some in big plastic tubs and boxes, and the rest spread around the sewing room/house. Hopefully sometime this year, we'll sort everything to store safely. That and use/somehow get rid off the fabric hoard taking over the sewing room so I have space to put finished stuff...

Though for our more expensive costumes, we'd love to buy a couple more mannequins, to join the display (corner of our rumpus room) yay for being married to a fellow costumer, we both let our stuff take over the house ;)

I have the corners of my room stuffed with fabric, paints and other various bits and bobs like feathers XD
My costumes are hanging in the closet and a couple of my props are in there too along with my millions of pairs of shoes.
My giant key is sitting in my computer room behind the tv ish, well half behind it anyway, it is rather big -_-'
I don't know where I will store weapons from this year though ><

I'm glad I'm not the only one who leaves cosplay stuff littered throughout the house. ~<3 I'd love a whole room dedicated to it. > >; for the sewing machine too, which I actually prop out on the dining table.

And you never know when an axe might come in handy.

I think I'd need 2 rooms devoted to Cosplay to be most effective. 1. for all things sewing and fabric paint and 2. in a garage (heated) for sculpting and casting (perfect for ventilation)

To be honest... I've taken over the house and my poor Mumsy is having to put up with it (feel her pain as she is neat and tidy and God gave her a daughter who is decidedly opposite - I have agreed to buying storage containers to make things better all around.)

In conclusion: mostly, you need storage containers (HEAPS), a stand-alone wardrobe and VERY understanding flatties or family members. Usually explanations of your insanity and pleas for help work. (Also accept their foibles.) As long as you semi-control/attempt to control your mess most people will be kind and understanding. Price tag is usually many showings off of progress and explanations along the way (plenty of practise for that judging room.)

My costumes sit in my wardrobe in my cosplay room, my basic/un-styled wigs in a large container in the same room, my majorly styled wigs (Natsu and Misty) sit on my wig head or a lamp in the same room and my KHR weapons in my own bedrooms wardobe as there are suitcases in the cosplay room's wardrobe taking the floor space

In lots of plastic tubs! Most of them are in a storage container. But my room where we live is pretty much just a storage shed with plastic tubs everywhere and a sewing table. Oh and a little tub for my wigs. Also there are some in my clothing drawers.
When I had a closet I put most of them in there

ANYWHERE IN MY HOUSE THERE'S ROOM.

my spinel sun helmet is still on the pew in the hallway... most of my costumes are hung up in my closet and my wigs are in bags and put away... but there is material ALL OVER MY FLOOR BECAUSE THERE'S NOWHERE ELSE TO PUT IT.
my sewing machine is also right next to my laptop, which is handy.

Lololol I only have one cosplay(Rikku). It's very small, with not a lot to it. When it's all folded up, it fits in my hands easy, so it's just sitting in a corner of the lounge. My Rikku daggers, my unfinished keyblade.. Lol.
All my stuff is in that same corner in the lounge.. Hm. I think I have a small cosplay storage corner. xD
As for the sewing machine, I pull it out and work on the floor with it. xD Parents are great when it comes to putting up with me.

We are actually looking to move into a bigger house... One with a couple spare rooms so we can turn one into the sewing room!!!! ^-^

Frankie always gives me a shock whenever I walk into your house. I always think it's someone jumping out at me T-T

My wardrobe is physically split in two, so half of it is dedicated to cosplay. I keep all my fabric in a big bag on the floor of that, along with any shoes. My coslpays are all on their own coathangers, with as many of the bits I can fit on. I also have a small set of drawers which I shove everything else into.
My wigs are each in the bag they came in, shove up in the top of my wardobe, apart from my Lili wig, which is on my wig head, and my Goyjo wig, on a lamp in my sisters room. And all my cheap wigs are lumped in one bag together.
Anything that I'm working on is either in the drawers in ~~my sewing room~~ the spare bedroom, or piled all over that bed. And any weapon props are stashed in the gap between my bookshelf and my desk.

I live by myself which is bad because I haven't seen my kitchen table in two years.

It is so much easier when you don't have to put projects away all the time Very Happy

I don't think I could live with non-cosplayers anymore
