Hey all!

Heeeeeeey everyone! I come to this forum seeking people of the like mindedness that is I. Or rather, everything that is awesome and geeky. Also the fact that is a NZ centric site is cool too.

Soooo, a little about me.

I'm 21, hail from Wellington way, and right now my life is mostly taken up by being a poor student studying visual arts and design which I am in my second year of. I work part time at a Pak n Save which pays for train fare and comics. Sometimes even food when I'm lucky.

My main interests are comics, but I'm a big fan of anime and manga. Also a huge fantasy and sci-fi geek too.

Right now I'm playing Pokemon HeartGold.

And not playing FF XII because I have no time.

I came here by the way of a link of a link to this link, but either way it looks like an awesome place to be and I thank you all for having me!

I studied there 2001 - 2004. I miss the comraderie of the place. Hey all! Icon_biggrin

And let's face it, easy access to a print studio and the tools in that workshop!

Haha, wow! I don't have a whole lot to do with the visual arts crowd. I was on my digital media cert. last year and this year they're just getting us to do drawing with Chris and Rudy, which is pretty much the only visual arts we seem to be doing so far. The main tutors I have are Barb, Sue and Abby. If those names ring any bells for you that is Hey all! Icon_biggrin

I will definitely say hello to those I know of for you though!

And yes, it's a great little place. The classmates that stayed through til this year are like a little family. What were you studying, if you don't mind me asking?

Could be the same Chris... Chris White? Still has his english accent?

We didn't do much digital, just the real basic photoshop.

Technically I was studying 2d physical stuff, so paint, drawing, life drawing and print. But I tend to throw spanners in and also played with a little jewellery, soft stone, wood and metal. In fact I was a cow and decided to use Omaru stone for my first end-of-year exhibition project even though I hadn't been taught it. And my best drawings came when I convinced my tutor (Rozel, she's working for Learning Media as an illustrator now) to let me go to the zoo to draw instead of staying in class.

Chris White had to put up with me trying to do intaglio print (a technique untilising the sizing in paper) onto linen fabric for my final. There was a rumour that he had less white in his hair when I started...

Yup, Chris White, that's the one! He's a great tutor, much better than we had last year. Organized is the word that comes to mind when I think of Chris.

Oooooh, right. Hahah, well I will totally bring you up when I see him again on monday Hey all! Icon_biggrin

And now that you mention it, Chris does have a few grey streaks in his hair...
