Epic cosplay stories. By Cassiel. 02/04/10, 04:29 pm
I'm interested to hear all the stories cosplayers have about making their cosplays (or wearing them~)
Like the time you stayed up all night and just managed to finish sewing the damn thing and hey, it looked pretty good.
I'll start off with a fail!Story. I had to make a pair of pants that were extremely fitting, but also allowed enough movement to be able to pose, and not cut off my blood circulation. I spent three hours moving the seams back and forth, back and forth, until it was perfect. And then I looked at them and realised that I could've just bought a pair of dance tights that would've worked equally well, and I could have used them for another cosplay as well!

The most ridiculous thing I've done to date is sewing those Djinn plushies. Four of them. Each of them was like an 8-12hour overnighter (though one I made during daytime).
The other one was carrying home a piece of particle foam - from Placemakers, down the highway, up the hill to Wadestown. It was extremely large. It was also windy.

Oh, you know all about this one 8Db Last year's Saturday cosplay, started the night before after returning from Table Tennis club. Stayed up until freaking 5AM finishing it and got all of two hours of sleep before getting up for the Con. Last year's Sunday cosplay not so bad. Started Monday prior and finished 3AM Sunday morning (since Friday night/Saturday morning was devoted to Saturday cosplay). Got an extra hour because of Daylight Saving. xD
I actually got to bed before midnight last night! When was the last time I did that before a Con day? 8Db

My first cosplay was a superhero. I just called him (C.T) as its my name. And well it went complety wrong. The face paint went wrong. And just the costume was a nightmare

Not epic, but during last year's Auckgeddon (On sunday, when I was crossplaying as Fuuta) a bunch of us decided to go to BK to escape the horribly overpriced foodstuffs at ASB showgrounds it all went well until I went into the girl's bathroom, and was told by two outraged eight year olds "NO BOYS ALLOWED! D8<"

I made my first cosplay for the ChChGeddon. I had a week to get it all together, and by the end of it, people were telling me that it was awesome and stuff. =D Made me feel pretty good. <333

Mine's probably not that epic, but for my first cosplay I went as Gir from Invader Zim to Auckgeddon 09.
All I can say is polar fleece suit + no eyeholes + foam head held together with unprotected pins + heat = fatality

Fail!story: I was ironing some seams on my 'Chika cosplay, and I went to turn the iron off... but my arm brushed against the edge of the iron and now I have a scar there. Good times, good times.

^Ha...My arms are littered with ironing scars....long, unfortunate streaks that make me look like some razorblade happy emo kid. Thank god for Bio-oil.

I had a house full of mods, and all of us pulled damn-near all-nighters three nights in a row ;______; I think Jess may have gotten the least sleep, but Lucy was pretty wiped too...I have photographic evidence of her snoozing on a table at geddon Sleep deprived humour is the BEST humour!
