Do you want it to work properly? Like, Individual pages? Coz the way I see it at the moment: Buy a box the right size for the pages, and get some cardboard. Make the cover out of the cardboard, and then glue the lid of the box to one side, and the other half of the box to the other side, and paint 'em to look like pages. XD

Looks leather-bound to me. Metal embossed, but that's most expensive to try and match the look. Leather/Suede/Vinyl. But um, yeah, I'll be interested in seeing everyone suggestions aswell (for no other reason than random interest and the fact I've only had 2 mouthfuls of coffee so far.)

XD To solve the thickness problem, how about coating a bible? 8D That may be a little weird/heavy to carry around all day though.

This thread may help a little - http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=108213 . Maybe. >> Much talk about encyclopedias and rubber cement.

Two Diaries? Glue them cover to cover?

Coverings: it looks like its suppossed to be leather/suede - upholstery fabric?
Details: Ahh, I knew scrap booking would come in handy eventually. Scrap booking suppliers have all sorts of metal stuffs.... I also know you can get this this stuff that you kinda... rub on. And it makes stuff look like gold. I couldn't tell you what it's called but I do know where to find it in wellington...
