Garchomp -> UBER?! (Pokemon)

Old news =/ but yea

Garchomp is in the UBER tier....

Not that I care much, because I don't use it, and I can counter it.

But what do you other pokemaniacs think? xP

This is OLD news.

And you can't counter garchomp properly. That's why its uber. I agree, and was voicing my concerns back when YacheChomp was considered new and exciting.

Say that Trick Room is a counter ( even if it does not even come close, a counter in Pokemon terms is one that can switch in and safely scare/decimate ).

Then, Trick Room is a viable counter to Garchomp. Outcome to this - majority runs Trick Room to counter Garchomp, then users make Anti-Trick Room teams. Then, you have the TR teams, anti-TR teams and the Garchomp players (anti-anti-TR teams). Oops, Garchomp over-centralised the game.

Which is the reason it got banned. When teams had to have a Garchomp-counter, and a Garchomp-counter-counter, it was deemed overcentralising, and banned.

And it's also extremely powerful, can run multiple viable sets, and deadly in the hands of any competent player.

So basically TR can kill it, so all Garchomp teams have a TR counter.
Which makes all teams will be TR teams, and Anti-TR teams with a Garchomp.

No, there are three teams. Garchomp teams < Tr teams < Anti-TR teams < Garchomp teams

IF TR teams could, that is what would happen. But TR teams generally can't, they are quite niche, waste several turns in setup, and fall apart badly if TR isn't in play.

In any case, even if TR was a counter, making a whole team to defeat one pokemon is blatant over-centralization. Hence banning.

Man can't tell you how suprised i was to see this surely there is no debate on how insane garchomp can be, used to use it in my old team it can rip through teams in no time flat if given the chance

lol to be honest, ive never had trouble with Garchomps

exept for in battle tower when you only have 3 guys, and Garchomp comes last and you've only got one guy left...unless computer control fails
