Anyone seen it? I'm considering buying but I'm not sure if its worth it. What do you think of it?

If you're familiar with Bee Train's work with most anime, particularly one of their Girls with Gun trilogy, which Madlax is a part of, you'll probably be aware of the very slow pacing that they tend to adapt into their series. Madlax is no exception to this rule. It is a very slow series, like in regards to the plot, it moves at a snail's pace and then realises it's actually near the end of the series and decides to make one giant burst of speed to the finish line, but I feel it does sort of make up for it with its action, much like Noir did in the past as well.

That said, if you're familiar with Noir, I will note that you should not expect Madlax to be the same as Noir, despite the two series looking the same based on character design. Madlax is... well somewhat more difficult to get your head around than Noir was. Personally, I enjoyed Madlax, because I like Bee Train's Girls with Guns trilogy (although I still haven't finished El Cazador de la Bruja) and I would probably recommend getting the DVDs just for the special features alone, as the dub cast's little gag reel is very amusing. But that said, you can find all of those on youtube (Look up Conversations with SSS on youtube if you're interested, it requires absolutely no knowledge of the series, it's just a series of skits the dub cast did with phone sequences in the series)

Basically, I think Madlax is actually an iffy series that probably would require you to maybe, if possible, rent out the first DVD to actually see if it's in your taste.

I see. Yeah I think I'll rent it first. Cheaper that way. Thanks
