We definatley welcome you :)

Oshare Curry is a Visual Asian Community (ie: Asian fashion. music. food. you name it we try to cover it) Our Community network is expanding and of course, we're always looking for authors and moderators for several ends of the network.

EASTER WEEKEND UPDATE:

Here's some of the biggest things that have been happening recently!

- in 2009, November it was attacked with malware and i had to rebuild it.
- Today, it's fully functional (or more than it was LOL) in a joomla-style CMS.
- It hasnt changed it's ethos/changed it's subject or anything
- User registration is open!
- Community function
- Integrated gallery and forums
- Full support for NZ visual asian related commuinities
- Umbrella project support for Project East
- Supports overseas Visual Asian projects ie: Kanzen NI Jrock and JpopExpress
- Fully supports CNZ.

These flyers have already been put around Dunedin, and if you're a fan of what we do, don't hesitate to print a few off. If you dont like my simple publisher ones, go ahead and make your own and we'll link to them here!

We're going to re-do our contests this year and ACTUALLY OFFER PRIZES! :)
reiko was broke all of last year with debts up to her eyeballs, so buying prizes was sort of out of the question. Any questions or comments on the contests can be made on this thread or at the forums on oshare curry!
contests havent really received much yet- but when we get people iterested i'll actually sort something out, may require members of DCCAS to get it boosted.

UPDATES (And things i may need help with):

* There's a User Points system, meaning you can come be a dork and play slots. (Sometimes innaproppriate for younger users i understand >_> but there's no harm in slots! I PLAYED VEGAS STAKES ON THE SNES AT 8!!!!)
* Casino's getting new games but some of them fail snail, so i might see if there's a way to open the games in a new mini crhomed window. (This is because at 1024x768 the games can get squished due to padding of the iframe)
* Attempting to bridge the gap of visual asia one city at a time, so look out for my pretty mug in dunedin this summer. (Meaning i'm not taking anyone over, i'm linking and networking with visual asia in NZ.)
* Sorts of things i plan to do with that: Liason with ADP (Again not take over), Start DSCAS, Liason with other asian community groups across dunedin.
* We have flyers somewhere in this thingie, i'll grab the links and stick them in the first post again.
* I need people to look over security in the forums, and other spots ...more so just be mods cause we all know i'm the first to break my own rules!
* This is a big thing (security) because it's not just moderating, it's getting technologically sound poeple who can smack me for installing too many toys on the joomla back-end.
* Also big because i wont be able to do everything. So making sure the database works, making sure things are updated etc...
* Moderating, making sure people dont upload porn >_>
* Liasoning with other visual asian like sites, even including CNZ.
* Articles and writers obviously in great need of, i am seriously running out of content from the old site
* Gallery and Documents section open
* Facebook Connect is only HALF broken. >_>;;
* Oshare Curry Affiliate store (The 10$ gift cards we earn will go towards contests.. which i'm gonna go for ROUND THREE of trying these out LMAO.)
* There's donation buttons which will aid in me getting better more secure plugins for the site.

Oshare Curry WILL be at NZAE with it's Dunedin Umbrella project, DCCAS.
We're planning *DCCAS IS* a party for saturday night.

OSHARE CURRY is only the parent project of DCCAS, it is not directly related as DCCAS is a club/society and run by it's own members. Oshare Curry was founded in 2008 by Robert L Mcewen and Jillian E Haldeman (>.> there now you can find me in the phone book lmao.)

If you're having registration issues please PLEASE let us (at OC or at DACC) know - cause we need to test it and see what's wrong, and frankly we can do Facebook login via OC, so that helps? :)

Will try and implement this on DACC so there's less hassle.
