[Commish] I need a new logo. $75NZD up for grabs.

Ok so our logo is starting to get old so we want a new one.

Heres the email we sent out to our friend but is unable to come up with anything.

What about the logo would be a 100x100 of a dragon wrapping itself around the letters "L & M"?

None of this vector crap please. We've had problems with some artists using vectors and had copyrights all over that vector.

Just a question before i proceed in aiding your quest-
Are you still in need of the dragon-esque design, or are you asking for free-reign ideas to flow through to your private message box?

Just curious, i've done a tiny bit of design through in the past - and vectors work if you tend to mold them back through in photoshop, but i dont have acsess to illustrator right now anyways so you're in luck! :)

I hope i can maybe come up with something soon and send to you and hope that you enjoy it!

I'm keen to give it a try. C: What's the issue with vectors, out of curiousity? Surely a vector would be better, as you can up and downscale it without losing image quality -- so if you guys wanted to start making LM merch, you'd be able to make the logo bigger without the pixels. o_O

Vectors are industry standard yo. I think what you mean is no using vector clip art.

That would make a little more sense, hahah. (I was gunna say, a photoshop logo is just limiting all the potential a logo has...)

But using vector clip art on a professional logo design is sloppy (not to mention RIFE with copyright infringements) anyway. *frowns upon those that use it for professional work*

Stock vectors if royalty free are completley fine, considering i had professional advertisers for lecturers, and my mother's a former advertising artist herself (That's not trying to get me ahead of the game lmao, that's just pointing things out Razz

So say if you found a place that had free, copyable - high quality vectors for use - that's completley OK.

Same with your fonts, you gotta be careful of your fonts - either they're non commerical, copy free or they're the ones that came standard with your comptuer.

(Whee for using fonts i'm not supposed to have 8D)

I'll proooobably bow out this time as if the works needed in illustrator, i barely passed my ability to use illustrator. (In fact that program did nothing but confuse me Very Happy

)

You have to be really careful about 'royalty free' though; often it's only for non-commercial work. Not to mention that it's sloppy - the customer is paying you, so you should do the work, imho. If they wanted a stock vector, they would have approached the vector artist and asked to buy the rights, surely...

As for fonts - technically if they're the ones that came with your computer, afaik you're still not legally licensed to use them for professional designs, though I could be wrong on that one.

Ok heres to answer your questions.

1: Yes Vector Clip Art.
2: Yes Completely new logo, but you can still hint a big of dragon on it.
3: Some of the fonts were custom made

It's perfectly fine from a legal standpoint, but there's nothing to stop another company using the same bits to make theirs.

but my interreptation of your post is that you want a logo, drawn/designed by us with not copyrighted stuff (so prob preferrably fully drawn by us), of a L M combined letter in middle with dragon around it?
