I can't believe a thread hasn't been made yet. I think it counts as an anime.
well my mom use to watch the series when she was little * whoa! astro boy is old!*
anyways if your seen it your comments and stuff

my comment: very bad ending, rest fine. ( believe it or not I nearly cried.* hears the laughter* )

Astro Boy was like, the first manga ever. It's a classic, of course it'd count as an anime. xD

The first thing I thought when I saw the movie poster was "Why is he wearing clothes??!" and it made me doubt a bit, but I saw the trailer when we went to see another movie and now I want to see it.

Are we talking bad ending as it "Whoops, we're cutting it fine here! -BS something-" or it was convoluted or just plain dumb?

I'm a fan of astroboy and I can say the ending was pretty anti climatic.. v.v"
They go and add all these unneccesary new characters. Although Zog is pretty cute~ but srs. He already had those other friends in metro city in the cartoon and in the movie, he has all these other friends from the dump under metro city and that purple haired chick, I-can-never-remember-her-name who seems to exist for the sole purpose of being a love interest D:

I want to see this movie SIMPLY because it's animated by Imagi (I'm a massive fan of their work, as these days they're one of the few 3D animation studios that DON'T try to clone Pixar's work and go in their own direction).

Also, they don't have anything to do with the story and script - so even if the story is a bit lacking, I just want Imagi to do well.

(they did the TMNT movie too. Which was a sorta hit-and-miss story-wise, but got praise for its animation).

Haha. I'm worried that they are going to mess up the original story, like with Dragon Ball Evolution for a example >-> or add American puns into it- you know *Americanize * it to make the movie ''cooler '' xDD
