| With the cheaper synthetic brands there isn't much you can do, they are simply too weak and they cannot be styled like stronger, more expensive fibers. Party wigs aren't meant to be styled and I wouldn't recommend them for any cosplay, styled or unstyled. You are better off getting one off ebay, trademe or another wig site. |

| it you really need to get a wig off ebay and dont have a credit card just buy a Prezzie card from the post office. I've done this, and used about 3 cards and everything has gone smoothly. |

| Have you tried combing it slowly as much as you can? I've been doing that for a couple of minutes on a $2 shop wig and it's starting to look pretty gud. |

| ^Don't use proper brushes on wigs, as they're obviously designed to work with real hair. Use either a wig brush or a wide toothed comb. Also stay away from plastic ones and try to get ones with metal teeth instead, as plastic on plastic creates static.
& I've used the hot water method on a cheap wig and it worked just fine ._. |

| You can detangle wigs reasonably well (read: still with a heck of a lot of time and effort) with silicone spray, which can be bought from most hardware stores. Start by combing with your fingers to work out the massive knots, and then move to a comb or wig brush as Azeria suggested. :3 |

| ^Silicone spray is GODLY. We used it on Hannah's 1m long wig and I could run my fingers through from top to bottom <333
& yea at Hardware stores. I got mine from Bunning's for $8, saw the same can at the Warehouse for $11 a while later~ |
