Doctor Who : Waters of Mars *CONTAINS SPOILERS* By SerenitySaiyan. 16/11/09, 02:14 pm |
| So. OMG. Just watched it. *squee* Was on the edge of my seat (well, clinging to the mattress cover) the WHOLE TIME. But, WHAT ON EARTH HAS HE DONE NOW?! I mean, what he does usually is pushing the boundaries, but he went COCKY. He screwed up TIME. He broke one of the main Time Lord rules, did he not? And, he became scarily like the Master :/ Was not good. So keen for the Christmas special though. Wanna know the extent of what he's done to change the course of history. I mean, if Susie Brooke DIED in the protection of Earth, then what happened to the exploration? SO MANY QUESTIONS! D:
So, discuss? What did you think? Liked? Disliked? I wanna know! Don't think i'll be able to sleep now. Must think. Must wonder. Have too many questions! *brain exploded* |

| He *tried* to mess up time, and break the laws, but it all closed up on him nicely and everything he did made diddly-squat difference to history. It did, however, have a dramatic effect on him.
I thought it was just amazing. I'm going to have to watch so many episodes again before the next one. This is turning out even better than the Bad Wolf plotline. |

| IT WAS AMAZING. Except I'm disappointed. It could have been better. but it was still very good.
There just wasn't enough quirky Doctor in it, I know it's meant to be getting darker, but there wasn't any reason for it yet. (By the end there is) But it seemed he was just sort of depressed the whole time.
I WANT IT TO BE CHRISTMAS NOW. |

| It was seriously interesting!!! It hurt the Doctor so much when he couldn't do anything.
I am soooo happy because I am going to be in England for Christmas so I can see it LIVE! |

| I loved it! Though I was pissed at the Doctor trying to control time like he did, I am glad he got his ass kicked by it...I don't like him that way
and OH!! The End of Time! OMG!! OMG!!

| I've been re-watching some of the earlier episodes to fill the gap between this special and the next. Blink is such a great episode, even if it was a "Dr lite" one. When they do it right, they do it very right.
Can't wait till Christmas!!!

| Blink is one of my all time favourite episodes. Just loved it, but man did it freak me out. In regards to Waters on Mars, that was just heart-breaking. To see him not run around and do stuff, because he knew he shouldn't do stuff. Then for him to break it, and say that he is Timelord Victorious was just super scarey. It was shades of the Doctor that and destroy (well at least he thought at the time) a whole species. David Tennant played that "I am one seriously screwed up Timelord" really well. But we knew the Master is still out there somewhere and to see that he will be in the Christmas special is just fabu! |

| I've just seen the Children in Need special and it's looking very good for the real thing.
The next ep is out in the UK at 7pm on Christmas Day and the final one at 7pm on New Year's Day. Obviously it'll already be 2010 down here though. And we're planning on going away around then for a couple of weeks of net-free holidaying. Waaa.
I'm sure I can rig something up on one of the servers at home to grab them though.
If anyone else has seen the CIN special, did you pick up on the Good Queen Bess reference? |

LOL yep. I love it when they do things like that. I think he said at the time that life was difficult for him, living in a non-linear time steam. |

Re: Doctor Who : Waters of Mars *CONTAINS SPOILERS* By Lowkey. 05/12/09, 01:45 pm |
| Timelord victorious!
Doctor Who always wins on characterization; the interactions between the Captain and her second in command were wonderful, and the Doctor in angry/god mode even better. "I am the Timelord victorious" was nearly as evocative as " I never would ... make the foundation of this society: "a man who never would" " in The Doctor's Daughter (who, by the way, is where now, I wonder?). I will miss Tennant when he's gone.
(And Torchwood's not dark, it's brooding and fancies itself dark. I think Doctor Who has much darker moments: that episode with the ravenous shadows and the soul trapped in the comcaster / radio / contraption? So no major-main characters die and there's no dubious sexualities outside of when Jack tags along, but hey. Could benefit from taking itself a bit more seriously though. ) |

| Yes, it all makes perfect sense now. I wonder how we missed a clue like that? It's even got the right rhythm. Well, not knowing too many people with two hearts I'm just extrapolating from the single one's beat.
Good job he hid his TARDIS though - he's not supposed to have it. |
