Voice Acting Training :3

So hiya!
You may (or may not have) noticed that Li-Bai has a voice acting thread.
Well Im gonna do one too. :3
I'm part of VAA like Li-Bai, and I kinda need to learn the basics, so what better way than to get everyone to make characters up and let me have a go!

So layout....
1) Name
2) Age
3) Personality
4) Pitch?
5) And what do they say? More than at least 2 lines please!

Voice Range: I CANNOT go low. It just sounds weird. I can do cute squeaky voices. I do French and German at school, and I'm Cantonese, so I think if I tried hard enough, I could do accents :3 (Mandarin if I tried REALLY Hard). If it helps, I can kinda do impersonations of:

Sonic the Hedgehog characters:
Amy Rose
Cream
Sonic (kinda)
Tails
Rouge

Fan made:
Kingdom Hearts Chronicles characters >.>
Charlie the Unicorn: the pink and blue unicorns

I CAN DO REALLY ANNOYING VOICES!!!! 8D

Though I have to say, I sound different on the comp, so it may differ >..>
But please keep in mind, Im new, and I have a munted old headset, but its better that laptop mic... 8D

1) Name - Dreamer
2) Age - 12
3) Personality - Evil, sadistic, sly. Loves to randomly hug people. Somewhat insane. Tends to appear 'good' until of course she unleashes hell upon you.
4) Pitch? - Er, moderately high.
5) And what do they say?
" Come on~ It's not that bad. I could have just FORCED him to fall in love with you~ This way you get to choose!"

Hmm... let me try something here >w>

MAKESHIFT AUDITIONS FOR ‘DATTBTW’ TIEM WHOOYEAH (lol longest acronym ever. DATTBTW.)
(This is hard, I haven't even started writing this character in the radioplay yet haha)

1) Wilhelm Anapol Taylor
2) We'll say around mid-teen for now~
3) Quiet and reserved, but more out of a natural soberness than anything else. Sensible, polite and has his head on straight although there is a side to him that is free and witty.
4) Pitch sort of mid-low to mid-high (not a whole lot low. It's good to practice >D How do you think I can do boy voices now? Hahah)

5) - (polite, affable) "Please, call me Will. The mayor is my uncle. Feel free to stay in Thamasa however long you like.”
- (irritated) “Don’t be so crude. Clément is thrown out of the army and now this? It’s too perfect for it to be just a coincidence.”
- (alarmed) “H-hey! Get back here! You have no idea what’s on the other – ohh, for Shiva’s sake!”

Im actually finding it really hard. (me and my mic dont get on well, and my voice sounds weird... maybe Im growing up? XD)
But I'll try my best

@Cactiberry: I'll try and get yours to you soon. I've been heck busy, and I had to do my internal that day, when I said I was going to send it...sowwy

I'll do what I can. Later on when I get an actual mic, and I get better at this, I'll redo them. :3

Hahaha. It usually goes that the first few times you hear your own voice when you're trying to VA it sounds odd. I've grown to like the sound of some of the voices that I've made in the past, like the voice I used for 'Clara' in my VA practice thread xD

Ah never mind.
But I'll try. Im trying your Wilhelm at the moment. Im more content with my voice than I am when doing Dreamer (no offense cacti) but maybe Im just not for girl voices? XD

2) Age: Actually? Thousands of years old. Has appearance of around 14 years old though.
3) Personality: (This is copy pasted from his Zodiac) "People born in the Year of the Rabbit are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. 4) Pitch? He's a bunny/boy - so not too high, but he wouldn't be very low. This is set in a Neo-victorian England setting, so an english accent would be appropriate, but not necessary.
5) And what do they say?
"So it's a deal then? You'll help me find the books, and I'll teach you how to use them. Why do I want to find them? They're my property - do you really need to ask?"

Name: River Ashton ^^ (I pulled that name out of my... yeah~)
Age: 11
Gender: female
Personality: She is smart because she knows with her age she can get away with things, but her main job is to kill certain people, very corupt child, kinda braty and plays on the idea of being sweet and innocent ;3
Her only friend really being her stuffed puppy toy, that when a spell is said, turns into into a large dog that she rides, also she uses her very VERY long hair ribbons as her weapon (whip, rope)

What lines:
(acting innocent) You wouldnt hurt me, would you?
(sad) Leave puppy alone!!
(snob) HA! you call yourself a god? pathetic...

I tried my very best everyone! But my headset doesn't exactly work with me, so it may sound weird.... My sister said that it sounded a lot more different than me actually saying it.... so yeah, thanks for putting up with me! (am going to get one at christmas :3)

2) Age: 16
3) Personality: Rose is slightly more calm around her teammates Aly and Angel and her friend Blade but is not very tolerant to her friendly nemesis, Crimson.
4) Pitch: Rose is a Sonic Character so naturally, her voice will tend to be kinda cartoony. Mid-low to Mid-high. If it helps, she sounds like Amy kinda~
5) What do they say:
(cheerful)"Hey, we're like sisters. Sisters look out for each other~"
(annoyed)"What made you think you had a chance? Don't talk to me like we've suddenly become friends!"
(uncertain)"Huh? I thought you said you didn't believe in the supernatural..."

Yeah, I love voice acting. I just auditioned for something on the VAA since I haven't in a while and I was getting withdrawal symptoms, haha. (One of the projects I voiced for finally came out! Whooyeah!) ... my own thread seems to be gathering dust a bit xD' /plug (Thanks for the comment on my demo reel though lol)

Am downloading now and may return with critique. Thanks muchly! :3

Edit: Your voice is so cute! xD; Just a note, did you use different microphones? I heard different qualities like woah. >w>

I don't mind that you're abrupt, I prefer the truth than fiction. I'll keep it all in mind when doing Mystix's character later today.

But once again, thanks alot for that~! Now I know what I need to work on!

You need to make up a real demo tape, unless you have one in secret somewhere.
Those are always useful for getting help or advice from others, and it also gives a good indication of what your range is, and sometimes if you're better with actual dubbing or games, or radioplays.

Like for example:
'Okay, some random hilarious scene here. voice goes high and annoying and hyper. Next, some desperate scene in the rain. Just go with whatever here. Sexy pause ish lines go here, then insert some boyish lines and then put in something with screaming or crying.'

I love doing the last ones. I look like a complete Richard screaming into my microphone, but it gives me the shivers hearing it afterwards. >3333

If you come up with a demo tape, then you should totally put it here. Or if you had one.

Yes, you should do some accent practice too. It's lulzy.
