Original Characters?

A friend and I have our own original characters, and I was wondering what opinions were on cosplaying as OCs?
Not self-inserts and such Neutral

but from a whole made up story C:

On a personal opinion level, I think that it's awesome, but you do have to remember that you won't get the same amount of people recognising your character. So as long as you don't mind that, then go for it! Very Happy

I know Admin and I are planning on cosplaying from our original story at some stage. :3

I, too, am planning on cosplaying an original character, alongside Jeeves and possibly another friend, next year. From a wholly original story/comic/thing I'm co-writing with aforementioned Jeeves, although the character is based off me, loosely. Well, technically it's not wholly original, since we're directly taking from our real lives, but bleh.

I think it's an awesome idea. Have fun with it.

Though it's already been said, don't expect the same amount of attention that bishounen like Sasuke and Riku will get. However, if your character is super hawt or has a nifty costume, girls glomp. 8D (Like me) I'm planning to cosplay one of my OC's too (or at least make his outfit). Grats for being different! ^-^

Indeed they were! Though to enter OCs into the contest you have to be able to provide timestamped ref pics to prove that you didn't make up how it should look as you made the costume. :)

Whats really cool about cosplaying, when you dress in a very extremely fancy costume. People will pretend they know you are from some anime/manga.

If the character is from something, no matter how small, it counts as cosplay. A OC is when the character is from a story you wrote your self ^^

The plan is that we'll cosplay them to the timaru gathering~

I think I'd rather cosplay OC now that anime/manga/tv/etcetc characters. Don't know why but I think they can create more of a challenge ^_^

OC's can create more of a challenge as you have to do personalities and other things like that. And you can make their costume has hard or easy as you want to ^^

Me and my friends have created several stories with our own OC's to cosplay.

Well, they might not want to cosplay them but I will. Which makes me think... HOLIDAY PROJECT = STEAMPUNK.
