Bokurano? By Zari. 07/11/09, 12:07 am |
| Okay, so I was talking to a friend of mine about a month ago and she recommended this manga/anime to me. SO DEPRESSING. SO GOOD. I'm not going to say much kore because it would be spoilerific, but the main characters are 15 kids who get to pilot this robot, one by one, in battles to save the earth. Sounds kind of like a stereotypical mecha-sci-fi-thing going on, but here's the twist- if they lose, entire world goes kaboom. If they win, the current pilot dies. I cried. Anyone else read/watched it? YOU SHOULD. D: |

| Uninstall = love. The lyrics are eerie and so, so fitting. Chiaki Ishikawa is a good singer, too. And apparently the music video for Uninstall uses the same empty char motif as the series. (the bit before the commercial break shows the empty chairs and the appear all the time in the series. Remembering the characters who should be seated in them but can't be because they're dead is heart-wrenching. or maybe I'm just a cry-baby. |

| Yes, true, but after reading it I went on to read another manga (a shoujo one...) and found the art so OVERDONE compared to Bokurano. It's a very simplistic style, very human...and, actually, much more easier to detect emotions than these huge-eyed, overly detailed art styles. |
