I highly reccommend the following:

Fight Club - I cannot put into words how awesome this film is. Think of the awesomest movie ever, then times it by a million and you have Fight Club.
All Quiet on the Western Front - Epic WW1 war movie. Simply beautiful. Not so much about the battling, but more about the complete tragedy of war. Depressing, but so so so good.
V For Vendetta - coz it's based off one of my favourite comic books, and V has such a smexy voice. ;D
Two Cars One Night - Gooooorrrrgeous New Zealand short film exploring issues surrounding human relationships, friendship, and modern maori culture.

And saving the best for last....

Appocalypse Now - GREATEST VIETNAM WAR MOVIE EVER MADE. This movie is like...woah. Trippy. And just...so freakin good.

I feel like listing my favorite live action movies now like Picc has done, with actual reasons why I like them...

Titanic- Totally awesome movie, and so so so sad. The basic premise of it makes it seem sappy, and it is, but it's SUCH A GOOD KIND OF SAPPY. <3 Anyone who hasn't seen it is a bad person. BAD. See it and then tell Pyro how awesome you think it is. (BTW; Jack is totally Vincent and Rose is totally Lucrecia. Say otherwise, and you shall face my wrath. >=O)

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers- This movie was epic. The battle of Helm's Deep was so much win, and a lot of the shots and film techniques are funny. Plus; there were lots of very bishie guys in it. ;)

Blackadder: Back and Forth- Only, like, forty minutes long, but so funny. As usual, Baldrick is a total crack up, and the entire movie is made of win. "Our chance of salvation is in fact... A lollipop." "Raspberry flavor, m'lord!"

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?- Part animation, part live action, utterly awesome. WFRR is a crack up movie which paints what it'd be like if cartoons were real; and how FREAKIN' DISTURBED they'd be.

Les Miserables- Okay, so, basically, I love all the versions of LM I've heard/seen. I've only watched the 1990's movie version, but the music from the Broadway (I think it's the Broadway...) cast musical is fabulous too. Everything's fairly faithful to the book; and I'm SOSOSO glad they didn't elaborate over a lot of the more minor parts; IE the convent grounds. >>

Shaun of the Dead- Exactly what it's genre implies- RomComZom. Very funny; and the acting's good too. "... They look absent; and sad... Like a drunk who's lost a bet..."

Hot Fuzz- Funny in the same way as SotD, and full of utter in a setting which reminds me of Kalm from FFVII; complete with the blazing gunfights and the dead people.

Black Sheep- So disgusting, but so fabulous and amusing at the same time. I'll never look at sheep in the same way again... (The effects were fabulous; too)

OMG Les Mis. is like, 50 different kinds of awesome. I loves it muchly.
And Hot Fuzz rawked. It was so funny!

Silent Hill ~ Pretty confusing---you kind of have to watch it twice to properly understand it but it's really good. Kind of freaky... but... yeah.
(...and also Cybil was hot.)

Hostel ~ ...Once you get past the fact that the first ten minutes or so is like... fifty percent sex scenes... you're all good! It's very sick and twisted (when you hear blowtorch sounds, cover your eyes, really) but I like it a lot because again, great plot. It's extremely violent but I don't care.
Interestingly I have a deep emotional attachment to this movie. It reminds me of one of my good friends... xD

The Reaping ~ Very, very good movie that keeps you thinking. ;3 It has its gory moments but nothing too horrifying. Nothing's what it seems, which I like in a movie. Bit of a religious theme---but nothing too offensive, really. It's got some really good facts and stuff, too. It's um... cool.

The Hills Have Eyes ~ The victims actually fight back in this horror movie.
Enough said.

Bambi II ~ Well... this looks out of place... xDDD
Seriously, this is the only good Disney sequel ever made. It is extremely, extremely cute and extremely, extremely sad and just... awesome. The backgrounds are beautiful, the wee baby animals are cute and the songs are just so indescribably lovely. :B The little boy who voices Bambi is so amazing.

I wanna see Silent Hill sososo bad, but I'm scared to watch it alone (I read all the wiki articles for it and they scared the hell outta me, lyk woah)

Although, I read one hilarious DMC SH crossover fanfic where Dante and Lady killed all the monsters they could and then rescued Cybil and the others. xD

Hannibal Rising is so good. I adore the Hannibal series. He's such an amazing character.
I have to say I like the books better though; gets you a much nicer look at his mind. >)

Yes, Py-Py, we will watch Silent Hill together. :B

Oh---ALSO

Sybil ~ A film version of the book about the first documented case of Dissociative Identity Disorder. :B It caused a lot of controversy because nobody thought it existed (the disorder that is) but it's soooo good (can anyone tell that I'm a nerd?). It has just two main characters---at the same time it has many. The girl, Sybil, has developed multiple identities to cope with various parts of her life (two of which are men, lawl) and her psychiatrist basically goes "lolwtf". It's awesome.

Gothika ~ I love movies about mental illnesses, can you tell? :B It's got Halle Berry in it, and she is like... an amazing actress plus hot for her age. xD Again, I like the story; it's about a criminal psychologist who gets accused of killing her husband and ends up in her own asylum trying to convince everyone she's sane while coming to realise that she might not be.

EDIT: took out The Butterfly Effect because Bambi had posted it already. I think we're on a similar wavelength and should have a movie night some time. xD

I never really liked Toy Story... xD

I had this omfgawesome Buzz Lightyear toy once, though. His wings flapped open and he said stuff like 'to infinity and beyond!' and he made bleeping noises. <3 He rocked.

Okay, I watched a really cool movie the other night on TV- called Cellular. It rocked.

Uh, does anyone else here have mucho love for Corpse Bride and TNBC like I do? I'm in a Tim Burton mood. <3

More random drabble- I want them to get around to making the Devil May Cry live action movie they announced like, in 2005. DMC LIVE ACTION WOULD ROCK. ><

awww.. yeah, I never really liked Toy Story to start with, then it just grew on me, 'coz it's so silly - quotes like "we need more monkeys!" etc. but meh.

Tim Burton is amazing - I indeed love TNBC, and was so happy when they included Hallowe'en town in Kingdom Hearts~! xD

Nope, not seen Cellular though... To tell the truth, we don't HAVE TV. I mean, we HAVE a TV, but don't WATCH boradcasted TV. We've not done so for about.. 4 years now. xD Which is a scary thought. Back where we were in the old house, we where in the country, so had no signal - had to get sky in order to watch. And we gradually watched less and less, so I guess we forgot to re-new the Sky subscription, and have just never.. done anything more with it. o_O

This little boy looked up at me with big brown eyes and was like "i watched a weally scawy moviee i did" "there was a big spider in it" i was like "Awww" *pat pat*

anyway the kid was three so yeah, he may have got some of his facts wrong LOL

I FINALLY SAW ADVENT CHILDREN YAAAY YAAY YAAY!
I'm so happy~~
I watched the subbed version. So, I'm gonna watch the dubbed version later. Like, some other time~
It was good though ^^

And i also watched Bridge to Terabithia~
I was crying for like, the whole second half D:
it's so sad~
