Baldur's Gate Group '10!

I know there are people here that like this game, because we fricking MET YOU AT GEDDON MAN.

So level10 wants to be either Sarevok or Edwin, and I'm at least 80% sure I want to be Imoen, because if no one else joins, we can still do a skit for the comp (yep, we would be entering the competition under the novice section). So I guess this would be for the last day of AuckGeddon next year.

There's a lot of leeway with a lot of the costumes, because the only people really shown in cutscenes are the bad guys (as it's a game with so much customisability in terms of party members), so you can pretty much look at the character portrait and the initial clothing/armour on the sprite and go from there.

So... Any one up for it? Half of the costumes are armour, that's why I thought I'd post it now, so there's a whole lot of time to plan/procrastinate/complain/make it. We'd love ANY ONE to take part, if you don't want to enter the competition that's sweet as, just having a Baldur's Gate group would rock. Choose any character you want, from Dynaheir to Viconia to Xzar to Tamoko... It's all good bebe.

I would so join but i have my cosplay chosen and while i would love to go as minsk i dont know where to get a miniature giant space hamster.

I'm Keen. Was gonna do Alphonse from FMA for the comp, but it would be best if I learn how to make armour first, so can I join you guys and get some help/advice?
Only thing is, I havent played Baldurs Gate.
Saboteur, can you post some character images, or links to vids?

Addit: Sarevok looks awesome! Level10 should do him, in all his Evil magifi...magnifice..... coolness!!!

Just kidding, I don't think I've met any one who likes Khalid... Kivan? He's pretty badass. Although he doesn't have the epic quotability of Minsc:

"Fool me once; shame on you! Fool me twice; WATCH IT- I'M HUGE!"

WOW, that's what I get for leaving this open for an hour while at work-

@TinTango, if Sokka here won't be Minsc, then you could do him! He's THE BIG GUY of Baldur's Gate (and also bald! aha!). Look at this list and then you can look up the avatar's of the characters... As for what they wear, you can just ask us who you want and I'll get level10 to get a screenshot of the original sprite in the inventory screen Very Happy

There are many, many characters :)

Edited to add: We've never made armour either, so it'll be a learning experience for all of us.

Edit #2: It's from before the era of lots of FMVs, so really the only ones are of the bad guys... There are so many party characters there's no way they could make videos with every one/every combination in them.

Let's see if I can find one online (not at home)... Nope not at all, damn you isometric. We're actually in the middle of moving house at the moment so I can't get a screenshot right now, but when we're set up at the new place I'll play it up 'til Minsc's intro and get one for you.

In the mean time, here's some fanart I found which is all EXTREMELY CLOSE to what he's wearing in the game as far as I can remember (before you equip stuff that's worth a damn, of course).

If you did want to do Minsc, you would need to carry around a miniature giant space hamster, like a plushie or something, as Boo is an integral part of Minsc X3

Okay, now I've got an idea of Minsc, and I'll practice some of the lines I heard on youtube: "Go for the eyes boo, go for the eyes!"
I already have an idea for the Hamster too.

BTW did you guys ever play Diablo 2? If so, how does it compare to Baldur's Gate? Would you consider it as a Cosplay for a later time?

@TinTango; Baldur's Gate is supposedly much heavier on story than Diablo 2 (the amount of dialogue in BG and BG2 is staggering). From what little I know of the Diablo games, they're pretty different- Diablo games are more action oriented whereas the BG games are more about story and character development.

I think Level10 has played one of the Diablo games? So he might do it! I really know hardly anything about Diablo, but if I ever play it, then... maybe :)
