NIGHTWISH!!

Welcome to the thread that discusses my second favourite band.
I decided to to make this thread due to the fact that it was
brought up at the masquerade ball by Le_Saboteur and be had
the most epic fallout that could have ever happened.

Le Saboteur likes Anette Olzon

I like Tarja Turunen

Now, we shared disapproving looks at each other and carried
on with our expensive beverages. But i thought i would ask those
that share the same music tastes, who do you like?
Also share some favourite songs as well
*Saying a song from tarja era and likeing anette is totally
okay and non contridictive. No really it's fine xP*

But really, It's just a thread for saying you like nightwish
and not this poll xP, although if you have an opinion you
would like to share upon this matter then that is okay too ^^
and me and Le_Saboteur are actually fine, not fall out at all xP
if anything, we would join forces to eliminate expensive stuff.

I shall give you my favourite songs and reinforce my like for tarja later..

Didn't like Nightwish at first but after a while it tends to grow..

Is Tarja the women singer ?, She is alright though its hard to understand what she is singing about sometimes usually have to lyric search online..

the new singer Anette
and i think the person you are thinking of is tuomas holopainen?
he has always been in it with rare vocal tracks xP
all finnish people are hard to understand lol try 69Eyes
it's like elvis with ville valo mixed with "sorry can not hear youuu"

Checked Nightwish album list on the computer and most songs are 2001-2002. It must be Tarja.
Is Anette's music pretty good ? Guess should update Nightwish music..

I was a biiiiiiig nightwish fangirl back in the day - I knew they were picking up a new vocalist, but I haven't actually heard her sing. I like Tarja, sort of - from the sounds of it, she was a raging beautiful and wonderful person; and her voice is a little heavy at times. Still got some fond favourite tracks though - love love love Planet Hell, 10th Man Down, Over the Hills, Come Cover Me...sigh. I haven't listened to them in ages! Must go check out Anette...

I didn't even know there was a new singer! o.o Then again, I had trouble actually getting my hands on some Nightwish to start with, hahah. Well.... Tarja was pretty? Heh.

I think my favourite song is 'The Kinslayer' but I liked pretty much all of the songs I found by them lol. Umm.... Oh yeah, I love 'Ghost Love Score' and 'Crownless' too ('Crownless again shall be the king~" fff the songs I seemed to like started with 'c' 8D; (it's been a while, can you tell?)

And of course, the obligatory 'Moondance'. It's what started me off in the first place. >w>

Now I want to go listen to them again, haha xD

Hey hey, I like them BOTH, I just think Tarja is a total cow, which she is (don't deny it! YOU KNOW IT TO BE TRUEEE). She was pretty much just a session musician but was all too happy to take the cred. At least Annette seems to be happy taking part in the creative process. And, y'know, is a normal person and not a meanie Very Happy

That's my main beef with Tarja. I hate drama queen's. BLEGHHH.

The look we gave each other was epic though XD

The main thing for me in Nightwish has always been the music and the compositions, and I think both vocal styles suit the music amazingly. Nightwish has such a huge back catalogue with Tarja, of course more of the songs I like are Tarja, but I don't necessarily prefer her... I really do like them both! <3 Just like how I love all of Nightwish's musical styles- classical/score/symphonic metal/goth... Whatever, they're just such an amazing band.

I've found their singles they released from Dark Passion Play (album with Annette) were incredibly weak, though (apart from The Islander, which is awesomesest). Sahara and 7 Days to the Wolves would have been much better choices than Amaranth and Bye Bye Beautiful

Anyway, my main love is for MARCO HIETALAAA I love him so much. What the hell is it with me and men that look like frickin Vikings?!

I find it way too hard to pick out my favourite songs by Nightwish soo, I'll just post some that I found on YT randomly! Pretty certain my favourites would be The Islander, While Your Lips are Still Red (not Nightwish, but still Razz

), Ghost Love Score, and their cover of Phantom of the Opera. Yeah, pretty sure...

bah i know T~T i had to go through real groovy and get them imported u.u
The first time i heard these guys was on the "Resident Evil: Apocylapse" album
and i fell in love with "Nemo". still my most favourite ^^;;

other than that, TUOMAS!! i hate you in phantom of the opera!!
every time i hear that song i say to myself "i could do way better than
you! damn constupated rock singers" *at least he does not belt out
in "while your lips are still red" ^^;;*.

although everything else is ok, i'll let him slip xP

Mmm, Sacramanent of Wilderness. Such a good song. Ou, yes, I really like Romanticide, too. Eff it, I like about 75% of Nightwish songs, so this is going to become way too long a list for me.

Also; Amaranth is LAME why you link to lame song. That video makes me want to scream, it's so cheesy and and... yeah, mainly just cheesy.

Edit: Here's a fun fact! Last year when I was doing make up and SFX, I did level10 up as Phantom of the Opera and had him being all creepy on stage to their Phantom of the Opera. It was AWESOME. That guy puts up with so much crap from me Very Happy

i thought jukka was the hottest of the group (tuomas was PASTAY)

I dunno, i guess a band is there to entertain for the people
and if we are happy then thats what really matters
i guess they should have just quit while they were ahead
and killed tarja's manager.
i don't care for the status of the band really.
if they all had aids and had depression i would still love them
as long as they apealed as they did xP and i totally understand
with the tarja and back catalogue thing. thats why i said
that i would not be offended and it is non contradictive ^^

EMBRACE the awesome that is viking men! Jukka... Ewww dude looks like a rapist. I totally thought Tuomas was the best looking (so much brooding intensity!), but Marco is just so full of awesome I cannot help but be completely enthralled by him.

I was looking for hot Tuomas pictures to back myself up, and I found this, which is way better than a hot picture.

On Tarja; I just can't respect people that treat their band mates like sugar honey iced tea, and act as if they're the awesome sauce. Like I said, I love and still enjoy the music they made with Tarja, she's just a Richard Razz

I perfer Tarja she can nail the operatic songs where as annette just cant. simple enough fact.
Tarjas vocals is enough to send people into shivers.
However, I do like Anette in dark passion play. it does suit the move the band made to incoperate more heavy metal sounds into the band rather than symphonic.

Symphonic metal is the best. I mean I'm open to most music, but for me nothing will beat Symphonic metal, and Nightwish is deffinitly in my top 3. I perfered it when Tarja was the vocalist, and yea Anette is awesome too, but she just doesn't have the same effect as Tarja (though she had been trying in some recent concerts and was doing a good job) anyway, they have a new album out this year!! and I wana grow a beard like Marco's, that'd just be awesome
