Death the Kid wig By Guest. 30/10/09, 07:24 am |
| Yes...the stripes. You know it. It's practically impossible to dye a black wig to white (especially in such exact areas), and it would be very hard to dye a white wig everywhere except for the stripes...
I found this pic from another Kid cosplayer: https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/looknam/kidwig_05.jpg
I was wondering if anyone knew what exactly he used to get it so brightly white? (I've never coloured a wig before...ever. o_O) |

| Judging by the picture I would assume that he used white spray paint actually. O_o Which is a little odd. xD
The easiest option would probably be to buy a pre-dyed wig off of eBay: click here~ |

| If you sew in black and white wefts you can layer it so you have a short black layer, a longer white layer, longer black layer, longer white layer, etc.
like this:
___ _____ _______ _________ ___________ _____________ _______________
...if that makes sense at all. n_n;
OR, you could buy some white wefts, and colour black stripes into the white wefts with a black sharpie? |

| That sounds a lot nicer than spraypaint. x-x A lot harder too. XD Thanks. |

| Rofl, no worries. XD I think the hand colouring wefts to be stripey would probably be the easier option of the two - and yeah, much nicer looking than spray paint. :3 |

| I still maintain that I'm just procrastinating, but you're more than welcome. |

Erm question (noob): can I buy actual wefts with the wig (from a shop or whatever) or will I have to get them seperate/make them? |

Re: Death the Kid wig By JVCA. 30/10/09, 08:35 am |
| It depends on where you buy them from - Cosworx sells premade wefts http://cosworx.com/product.php?productid=26283&cat=0&page=1 but I don't really think NZ wig shops sell wefts (though there aren't many NZ wig shops anyway lol). You could get some white clip in extensions off trademe and use those though? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Health-beauty/Hair-accessories/Hair-extensions/auction-250289712.htm <---that sort of thing |

Interesting...I'd rather sew in clean wefts but they seem so expensive >_< I wouldn't even know how many I'd need. Still, thanks so much for your help. Gives me a lot to think about. |

| Most wigs I've seen used paint - either spray paint or acyrlic. But it sounds like JVCA's technique would look much nicer. |
