DUNEDIN COSPLAY PICNIC!

hey all!

you're getting this PM because you a.) live in dunedin and b.) are a cosplayer (or are obviously a member of these forums, so are interested in cosplay in some way!). as you all know, the cosplay following in dunedin is rather small compared to the other major centers in NZ-- even palmerston north-- but that doesn't mean we don't have a great wee community down here and that we should miss out on cool events like the others get.

APART from being the hosts to the NZ anime event next year in 2010, i also want to start encouraging our local cosplayers to get more involved in the scene and to meet up to get to know each other more! hopefully by starting some small gatherings, we'll become tighter-knit and perhaps encourage some others to join the community-- so if you have any friends that you think would be interested about cosplay, by all means mention these things to them!

boring talk aside, what this PM is REALLY about is to notify you all about the ~*DUNEDIN COSPLAY PICNIC*~ which is a belated event for halloween- 'cause halloween-time is all about dressing up, right? and there's nothing we do better! so far, the details are--

where: the botanical gardens! meet at the bandstand- the big white structure near the playground.
when: november 1st (a sunday) at 11am.
who: ... durrr. us?
what: a picnic! so this means bring a plate, yourself and a costume. C': there will also be some games & activities, too, so it'll be awesome! also. does anyone have blankets? i have one, but i don't know if we'll all fit on it.

there are actually a surprising number of cosplayers in dunedin. they're just elusive. (: i'm thinking maybe a picnic or something?

also, i will send a PM around to all the cosplayers i know that are here to alert them to the existence of this thread.
