...I feel I should clarify for the sakes of all innocent Trekkies - Star Trek guy was this really gross, skeevy guy at wellygeddon who was just a general pervert, really. :S To distinguish him from other Trekkies (I don't even know if he's going to auckgeddon lol - I hope not!) - his uniform shirt is really badly made, and it's a purple and red one rather than the normal red and black ones. Otherwise; he has really, really bad teeth, is bald (or very close cropped hair, I can't recall) and has very dark skin. So if you see a Trekkie, don't run screaming unless he fits this description! ~~otherwise you'll hurt Aurellion's dad's feelings (her dad being an awesome trekkie lol)~~

Not so relevant for other people:

I don't know why I always fall for this one. Especially when one of the people is the afore-mentioned 8 year old, SOMEONE is always finishing their outfit at 4am still, and we don't believe in makeup trials, thus creating mega panics when it turns out the concealer is three shades too dark and stinks to high heaven.

Not by a long shot - but it is a dillema I am facing. I have a really good multi-tool oversized pocketknife thing that I want to use as a prop for the Spy (since actually Butterfly knives are *illegal* in NZ -_-), but regardless of the face that the blade can't cut skin (I TRIED, and failed) it is still made out of metal, so I am quite stuck on what to do.

@Greg: Ah - there was a urrr... rather heated discussion on the geddon forums in which an idiot from auzzie refused to listen to all the reasons WHY metal was banned and continued to beautiful and wonderful person about how unfair it was that he wouldn't be able to enter his zanpakuto into the competition just because it was made of metal.

I think I did hear about this indirectly. I'm not going to be entering the contest, but I was trying to find some info and they said that the contest rules are a good guideline for all costume weapons.

Hence my dilemma - not entering the contest, so my weapon isn't *strictly* prohibited. It'll only come out of my pocket for the occasional photoshoot, and you'd be hard pressed to actually hurt anyone with it anyway. But...it is made of metal. I understand all the reasons why it is frowned upon, and I agree in general, so I'm not sure which side of the 'acceptable' line it would be -_-
