gallery on the portal

I think that we should hoard up cnzers cosplay photos and use them for the little gallery slideshow on the portal page, It seems to not have been changed for a while and as incredible as those cosplays are don't you think we should update it with cnzer's pics

We intend on purchasing some more eventually but for the meantime we can't really do anything, unfortunately.

those ARE CNZers cosplays. 8D; the reason why the gallery isn't functional anymore (and why new photos cannot be uploaded) is because we don't have enough space on these forums to accommodate them at this point in time. 8(

i think the only way to get more space would've been to move the forums to a different server?

& the paying issue is the problem. 8(

The way it works is that we have to buy forumotion credits ($11.30 for 500 credits) and then pay a monthly rental fee for the storage space (I don't know if there's a discount for buying more months or not...).

Here's the pricing:
50 MB : 50 Credits ($1.13)
100 MB : 100 Credits ($2.26)
200 MB : 200 Credits ($4.52)
300 MB : 300 Credits ($6.78)
500 MB : 500 Credits ($11.30)

I personally would love to upsize the gallery - but I have no idea how much space we'd need. o_O

I think we might put a limit on it though, so you have to have made a certain number of posts to be able to put pics in the gallery -- at the moment the person using up the most gallery space (20% of it!) has only made 131 posts and hasn't posted since march, which seems a bit unfair to those of us who are more active but have missed out!

Honest to god i have space, if you guys want to hold a CNZ gallery on my gallery, or have a subdomain for things like this if you need it - and you can't afford more space - just give me a hollar, i'm all for helping out Razz

Yea i noticed the fact that buying an NZ domain and NZ space isn't cheap, i realize nobody wants to have to move anything - but there should be a plugin that you can use on phpbb 2 or 3 that you could attach a link to an offsite gallery?

It's less expensive and probably free (cause i'm too cheap to make you guys pay) if you bummed some extra space off me, and just linked off site to it?

i'm still offering space XD i swear it fits my site's theme, and even if it's not on your same server you get the benefits of larger space. and free >_> cause it'll promote you as well cnz Razz

@Reiko: The offer is appreciated but afaik there's no way we can actually hook up an external gallery to the portal, or else we would have done so already - we have space on the server that hosts www.cosplay.co.nz, so if that was possible we would have already done it. n_n; Thanks though. C:

It's possible o_O i'm sure it is, on both parts XD i would assume you just find some HTML code or TPL part and go "LINK GOES HERE" XD... It could break things yes, but that's how i manage to do my templates in wordpress XD

but i'll still offer space to cosplayers anyways, in mean time :)

While you guys search for a way, cause i'm not familiar totally with PHPBB3 back-end.
or the portals xX lol i'm afraid of using one or installing one on my forums XD

but yes :) i get your point that you need to be able to put it through the portal.

500Mb won't go far at all. (+rental?). Although it does depend on the size you cut the pictures down to. But 500Mb is no room at all for us to grow.

And even if you can't do the slide show thing on the portal, then a simple html http link the gallery is HERE type thing?
