OCT - HCCP! 2009 - FOOD

We want to have an awesome party for the Christchurch Club, this is for members, by members. We aim to keep costs down by only charging $5, which basically is the bare minimum to cover hall hire and maybe $20 for food and decorations - not a massive budget there. We can keep costs down by asking you, the valued and awesome members to help us with making this an awesome party, and bring along a plate of food to share and contribute to dinner.

I've made this thread for people to talk about what they are bringing:
First off, PLEASE don't just bring junkfood - chips and fizz are very unhealthy and we don't want a party where we have 10 different types of crisps, bottles of coke and 1 cake. It doesn't take that much extra effort or money to make something tasty and nutritional + you get to show off your cooking/creativity skills!
We will buy a limited quantity of Fizz and JUICE and some chips out of the budget, so members don’t need to worry about bringing those, but just bring along something tasty to share.

Us organizers will also be contributing and bringing along a plate or two (or more) to go towards dinner. I’m planning on making Halloween Cupcakes and a fruit kebabs!
If you can’t think of what you can contribute, then post in here, and we’re more than happy to help with suggestions 

If I can come, I'll probably bring sushi. Unless I think of something more creative between now and then.

Steph donated the remaining supplies from her birthday party, so we have some bags of chips/bottles of drinks/lollies /balloons/chocolates etc so that should already fill our quota for junkfood.

I'm not sure what I'll be making - I have a million ideas and I want to make them all!!!

cake is still a lot lot lot better than say, chocolate or chips (just straight sugar and fat/salt) - at least its somewhat bread-like.

I'm probably going to make some mini muffins and... I'll probably try my hand at a halloween themed cake. And we'll probably bring fresh carrot/celery sticks + dip etc plus plus plus...

yeah there is, so if you want to heat up pizza or pies or something that can be used, I'm not sure if its got a proper bakingy oven, (i.e. if you were planning to make cookies on site) or if the thing we used to heat the pizzas etc last time is just a really odd shaped oven thingy but a proper oven non the less!.

Damn that's me out. I was gonna load up on energy drinks and be off the wall.

On a more serious note I could bring some cream puffs, they're quite nice and they're best served cold.
