Not really sure where to post this... pale

Made a post in the introductions (Newbie central) so you can find me there ;) New to cosplay (Never cosplayed in my life!), always wanted to do it though, currently making plans to cosplay at Auckgeddon, hopefully, if all goes well.

I'd love to join the Christchurch cosplay group and go along to the meetings but how do I join?

Sorry, total cosplay n00b here, I don't really know anything when it comes to cosplaying!

I'm not sure when I could get a costume together and come along, maybe not until after Auckgeddon, depends on time and funds. But I definitely want to join your group! Can I join? Because that would just be made of win! If so then please let me know how, thanks! Embarassed

(though don't worry if you don't get an email anytime soon, as I said, Aura's away for a bit ^^)

Our next meeting is our Halloween party, which is happening on Halloween XD and there's a thread for that somewhere in this forum...

We're really all rather laid-back (well, I am at least....) so don't stress, and all will be well! Ask questions and get to know people! We're nice, and we keep Sexybeastwhoisjustamazinglycreative&wonderful&justgoddam from biting.

I'm rather sure some of us are heading up to AuckGeddon, so you'll probably get to meet some of us up there (I'm too poor, and thus can't. sad

)

sorry I had planned some events, but I've had a death of someone very close (pretty much a family member) so I'm... yeah 'away'...

Oh which reminds me, basically the clubs gone down to having one meetup a month, its mainly cause people have exams and so on, also now everyone almost knows each other there are a lot of meetups every couple of weeks.
Anywhooooo, if anyone is organising a meetup and would like to spread the word, pm me the details and I'll send a group email out~

Just so's people know, you dont really need to ask to join!
Just turn up to the meetings, and talk to us on line, and you'll just be merged into us.

Oh and I'll try and get my gf Amber to sign up tonight, I actually met her at chchgeddon this year, in her Lucy costume, so I wouldn't be here and wouldn't be building my RO Ninja costume if it weren't for her. =D

side-topic: anyone know a place in ChCh where I would be able to start my Phoenix Wright costume? I figured I'd start at a Salvation Army or Opshop, for a blue suit of some kind, anyone got any suggestions where I should start? ^^"""

Definitely Savemart. There are four of them in Chch. And they're all huge. And inexpensive. You'll be able to find a blue suit in at least one of them, if not in all four.

The $2 Clothing Warehouse might also be worth a try, but you'd have difficulty finding matching trousers and jacket in there, whereas they have an entire rack of suits in Savemart.

Yeah, thats a good start, there are heaps of places like them around, seconds savemart (its got so much!), and there's Tophs in town.
