I'll answer my own questions O_o

1) I play the Violin and I used to play the piano
2) Soon to be grade 7 for Violin (highly doubt) and stopped piano when attempting grade 4
3)Hmm.... yeah, just hate the PRACTICING (doesn't everyone?)
4)My violin was made in France (I wanted an Italian one for the KHRness :3 ) and its a stubborn Violin.... Very unpredictable :3 dark chocolatey colour~
5)hmm.... 3 1/2 years?
6)Mum: "Hello Kelly, what instrument do you wish to play?"
Me: "I don't know, how about the violin?" (I WAS SERIOUSLY KIDDING)

Violin: grade 4 (it's slipped down from 6 because I've stopped playing)
Cello: grade 6
Guitar: Grade 5-7? (havn't be graded officially yet)
Keys/ piano: grade 4 (last time I got graded)
recorder/ tin whistle: grade 4

Love playing guitar... there's just something about it... (me thinks everyone should play! I even give free lessons~)

um... my violin was remade (after it was found in pieces in someones closet) and is a model of a Stravarious (sp?) my guitar is shoddy and I'm looking for a new one. My cello I am on the verge of killing myself because I hate it oh so much >_>
Tin whistle is connected to a beer brand... I don't even drink lol

um... Violin the longest at 12 years. Keys/piano 11 Cello 6. guitar 6, Bass/double bass 5. others I honesty don't know >_<;

Seriously the only instrument I've EVER wanted to play! Sadly parents refused to fork out the money for hire of the instrument... thus I decided to play every other instrument under the sun lol

p.s I don't like playing violin and cello due to the fact my wrist & thumb hurt far to much when i do... (i have munted arms) -thus the reason for being so negative against them above. when I don't have to play them... I do love them dearly

1) Piano. Descant and Treble recorders.
2) Grade 7 Piano, working up to my grade 8 now. The recorders were really just messing around.
3) I LOVE MY PIANO. I dont practice.... almost ever though. Because I hate playing when people can listen, and there is always someone home. Plus, it makes my back hurt.
4) My first piano had 7 keys in random places that didnt work. My current piano had one of my cakes modelled after it. And high A (in the second octave above middle C) sticks at random times, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
5) Since I was 7, so.... 9 years?
6) My best friend played piano, and she showed me a tiny bit, then I was all I WANT TO LEARN so I did. Me and her went through all our exams together, alsmot always picking the same pieces without even realising, (she was a natural, and wayyyy better than me) up until grade 3, I think. Then she dropped it because she actually had to put in some effort, and I kept going.
7) I'm slowly teaching myself guitar, but I dont know enough yet to count it as being able to play. I've always wanted to learn violin, harp, drums (both band style and timpani) and oboe.

1. Piano, recorder, flute, vocals. And my dad tried to impart his guitar skills upon me, which didn't work as well as he'd hoped....
2. No grade? 8D? I used to take proper lessons for piano when i was a small kid but then i dropped out and started learning it informally. Recorder was mandatory for me at primary school level, then I moved on to learning the flute informally after that...
3. I like the first four. I suck like hell on the guitar so I don't enjoy it as much... maybe if I improve. Practicing in general usually sucks unless I like the song.
4. ..... my recorder is still clean and white after all these years? 8DDD? /gets shot.
5. Piano since I was about four. Recorder when I was 7 to when I was about 13 or 14. Flute from 14 onwards. Vocals last year <strike>'cause i don't think singing in the shower counts</strike>. I don't remember when dad tried to start teaching me to play the guitar but it must've been around the same time I started playing the flute...
6. I haz no speshul instrument? >: A-anyway. Piano 'cause it was the in thing for asian kids to learn at the time, apparently. Recorder because it was mandatory. Flute because I had so much fun playing the recorder that my parents told me I should start playing the flute after they heard me play the Titanic theme song (i forgot the name lulz, it's the one by celine dion) by ear on the recorder orz I started vocal lessons in school after someone in the school hostel last year heard me singing and told me to give music lessons a try orz
7. I WANT TO LEARN TO PLAY THE DRUMS. and the violin, but lol ow, i have a friend back home who plays it and... yeah. ow. ;;

I enjoy clarinet the most because I play in the school band. It's very social.

Mine's a yamaha custom clarinet. It's wooden. But it wasn't customised for me.

@Mandie: Wow. Stradivaius?! I would die for one of those (or even a model) I never had any instrument problems XD Oh my god don't get me started on the hurting wrists!! especially when I have to go up to 7th position and reach for a high octave D

@Shotgun: NEVAR underestimeciate (from Bedtime story) Da violin!!! It is hard when you first start off but the hardwork definitely pays off~ once you get your fingering and bowing right, you'll be playing awesome songs in no time!!

WOW. I nearly had a heart attack to see this thread--music is my raison d'etre!!!

Flute, Trombone, Piano, Voice, Harp, Bassoon, Euphonium... Um, shove an intrument in my hands and I've played it. Seriously. The main ones are the first four.

2)What grade? If so what grade and Royal or Trinity?
ROYAL. Trinity is fail, I'm sorry.
I only do exams in flute...
Flute - Grade 6 (but I'm closer to grade 8. I'm pedantic and have to get Distinction every time XD)
Trombone - bout 6-7. When you can play Shostakovich 5 you know you're ok Very Happy

Piano - ummm, it's atrocious. I can play, doesn't mean I should. (probably grade 4 hehe)
Voice - well, I've been singing in choirs school and professional since I was like six. So Ummm... I'm an alright singer?
Harp - like grade 3. I only learnt for a year and then learning 4 instruments killed me and something had to go.

UMMM... Flute I do. I was coerced into playing the bone, so I have an intense love/hate relationship with it. Everything else I LOVE C:

Flute - it's a Yamaha. It's made of nickel so it's devillishly tricky to play. Whenever a borrow a silver flute from a friend it's an absolute DREAM to play.
Trombone - standard, run-of-the-mill brass, non-trigger King with a jazz mouthpiece. I do have an awesomely nerdy stone cone-mute in red and white: I look like a clown playing it.
I used to have a key harp, no pedals.
My piano? Well, it's the most out-of-tune darn thing in the world.

Flute - Almost five years C:
Trombone - three and a half yrs
Piano- haha I had lessons for two years
Voice - dude. I've been singing since I could talk, soooo... Sixteen years. ;)

Flute - my mum forbade the violin.
Trombone - girls school=no brass. I wanted to be a little music nerd so I signed up for the 'bone. My friend called dibs on the Tuba X(
Piano - my mum fourced me, age eight. I had a teacher who was, I kid you not, A MILLION YEARS OLD.

ZOMG! This thread is soo much fun reading. Gonna have to re-read it through again, but thought I'd post first.

1)Instruments: Voice, acoustic guitar... kinda

2)Grade: Voice- Trinity Grade 4 but many many years ago, probably doesnt count for much now. I'm only self-learning the acoustic guitar i.e. I can play a few chords, every now and then they form a song. Instrument? Icon_razz

3)Do you enjoy playing that instrument?
I love singing! But not formally for the last 6-7yrs? I made the people at work sing Auld Lang Syne on New Years Nightshift Instrument? 691117

I love playing the few chords I can on guitar. If I get invited to someone's place for dinner, I usually bring my guitar... and end up finding the host is a better player than I am. Lucky I can sing eh?

Voice- um, it's mine? Mostly baritone, but on occasion can hit some tenor notes.
Guitar- I call my new one Ashton... cos that's what it says inside of it.
My other guitar is Karina, for the same reason.

Voice- From age 13 till 21-22. I was in a few different choirs, once our choir sang backing at a concert for Kiri te Kanawa- definitely a highlight!
Guitar- whenever I picked it up, years ago to learn how to play "More then words". Yup, still haven't learned it all.

Voice- At high school, I didn't have to pay any rental costs.And if I went to lessons one week without practising properly, I just said that i was having trouble cos my voice was breaking. Instrument? Icon_lol

@Mandie- Really, me too! Saxophone... the only one I've ever really really wanted to play (voice was second). Darnit, gonna go find my new years resolution list and amend it- Learn to Play Saxophone.

I love my violin, It's the best thing ever. And my guitar has an awesome tone to it because of it's age.

My violin is made in china...It's quite new but it has a rich sound to it.
As for my guitar...It was made on this earth in some unknown land. And is about 29 years old. I love the sound it makes compared to newer guitars. It's a kind of smooth nasal sound. Not tinny and rigid like other metal stringed guitars. But stronger than a nylon stringed guitar.

I've been playing the violin since I was twelve...So only a little over 3 years. I was really decicated though and my grades went up quickly then. Now I'm just a normal violin student xP
I've been playing the guitar since I could pluck strings. But I've never felt the same passion as when I play the violin.

Well the violin was by chance when my friend let me play her violin. I saved up all my birthday money to buy a violin and got free lessons at school. I now have private lessons too. And it's been really fun.
Guitar was because my mum plays the guitar. My dad does too. And my sister is now learning the guitar more than I have been....I'm the odd one out xP

I wanted to learn the Flute but I don't have the lung capacity...Due to skipping P.E and only really playing video games and watching anime ect...
I'd like to learn the cello or viola too. But my teacher says I'll have to drop violin. So I can wait.
I do like piano too. Just I'm not that skilled moving my left hand differently to the right and vice versa. But I can mess around xD

Piano - Practical: Royal grade 4. Theory: Royal grade 4.
Violin - Practical: Grade 1. I played for a while but didn't do grades until around about the time I had to quit because I moved cities.

Piano - ....this is very hard to say. My dad taught me, so I didn't do grades and exams, but I learnt graded pieces. So, like... age 5, grade 3; age 7, grade 5, age 9, grade 6; age 11, grade 7; age 13, grade 8... something like that. >___> Then he stopped teachin' so I've been teaching myself pieces since.

Guitar - self taught
Recorder - ...didn't really do grades, only did it a few years (dad taught again)
Singing - ...mostly self-taught I guess?

100% >D (except when I have bad days and keep fumbling etc.)

@Li-Bai: Yesh. The violin is known as the hardest instrument to learn but once you past that hurdle and can play clear sounds the rest is quite fun ^^

My dad used to complain that when I first started the sound was so bad it sounded like a dying animal D:

Mine is from Michel Cihelka or some guy like that ;D He's an expert dude and sold it to me for $3500. Genius.

Lol 8 years? It's sketchy, when I was young, my parents bought me a 30 key keyboard and I was like, 'WIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNN', I think that counts.

My best friend's mother, who was a singer, had me around every now and then for quick lessons. For about 5 minutes. I didn't learn much for the first year, because she was about grade 5. Her best piece was the Turkish March. Even I don't think that piece requires too much mastery.

I want to play the electric bass ;x; I also really like the erhu, but like hell I'd have a chance to play that.
I've played the violin but I despise it, so it's untouched in it's case in the spare room...
