Belphegor's Tiara By Wishe. 24/08/09, 04:32 pm |
| Helping a friend make Belphegor's tiara~ He's thinking of using polymer clay / Sculpey, but I'm not sure how to get the tiara's shape...
And looking at different images on the net... It looks kinda like a circlet? While in others only the front can be seen while the rest is hidden in the hair. - So I'm wondering if I should just make the front and glue combs / clips to the sides or make a full circlet thing...
I'm hoping people could give me tips / ideas on how to make it? And/Or offer other solutions to making the tiara (other than clay).
Thanks~
Belphegor:
(And if anyone has a better ref pic for the tiara, pleasepleaseplease send it to me... Need a better look at the entricate patterns on it. I have cookies??? >.<'') |

| cardboard or craft foam for the base could work...? If not, just buy a $2 shop tiara to use as a base and cover it up with craft foam. I'm gonna say use 3-D paint or jewels/beads for the details if that helps |

| I reckon the sculpy idea would be fine - make it flat first (without the details), and once you've got the base shape of the crown, add on the details, and once all that is done, you can pick it up and join one end to the other so it's 3d, and just bake it. If that makes sense? >.< *not good at explaining sometimes* |

| Thanks for the replies~ ^^ I tried making one out of Sculpey just now. -is waiting for it to finish baking-
@JVCA - that makes perfect sense... It's exactly how I tried making it, actually. xD

Turns out I made it too wide... ;___;
Does anyone have suggestions for making sure that it doesn't end up not fitting? @__@ |

| I did. The problem is getting the shape right... Basically, it's kind of squished too much out at the sides... If that makes sense? >.<'' ...Are the top of people's heads perfect circles? -unsure- |

| I always thought they were more square-ish. Perhaps attach a comb kind of thing, so even if it doesn't fit (Like, too small) It can still be useable-ish? |

| @Cacti - Was going to do that originally... But it sticks out too much at the sides (you can see gaps between it and my head/hair). Guess I'll make it smaller next time (need more to get more clay... ;__; ) or hope his head is bigger than mine. >.<''
@JVCA - Yep. Hopefully this will help hide the gaps?
EDIT: NEVERMIND! I realised I could bend it slightly without breaking it. HAPPYTIMES~ 8D <3 |

| Well if you want to make sure that it won't fall off, just sew it on to the wig. |
