Monkey Island series

I feel like I'm one of the only people in/from New Zealand who know and love these games so much. ;_; PLEASE tell me there are more fans out there?

Had a need to make a thread since I just started getting the chapters of the latest game today (Tales of Monkey Island). TTGs have done an amazing job with this (far better than Escape was) and I think my girly crush for Guybrush has returned. >_>

Not to mention the urge to do MI cosplay cropping up again.

So, seriously? Any fans? Fave character/quotes/locations? I mean, come on, the quotes alone are what makes this game famous. 'You fight like a cow' is pretty much a historical gaming/in-joke quote these days. X3

Yes I used to play the Monkey Island games quite a fair bit when I was younger, not so much nowadays though, but I do occasionally pull out the disks when I have a bit of a nostalgia urge =p

Indeed, Tales of Monkey Island has been awesome so far. But I've only played Chapter One, because my horrible computer is horrible, and thus I have to wait for the Wiiware versions. Needless to say, for the last two days I've been visiting the Wii Shop channel every two hours just in case Chapter Two has suddenly become available.
Even though I'm perfectly aware that the Wii version won't be out for at least a couple more weeks.
OHHHHHH THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME.

I Dled and finished Chapter two yesterday, when it was released. I think it's even better than the first chapter, and I am in love with a certain new character (design and character wise!) - Tell Tale games also seem to LOVE a rather flashy opening number, so be prepared for a fun chapter!

(just watch out for a few sound bugs - most of all when Elaine speaks - don't have your speakers up TOO high due to cracking with words that have 'S' in them).

Spam - Oh man, I FEEL your pain. I was unable to do wii (no wireless here) or PC (old laptop) until last week (I purposely got a computer with settings well and above what the game requires so that I could play it at the highest settings. :B

And yay for other Guybrush fangirls! :3 Though I must say he and Elaine make a cute couple.

I grew up on Monkey Island, along with all the Lucas Arts and Sierra adventures. A Monkey Island cosplay would be AWESOME and if thats ever gonna happen you better let me know. I'm so keen.

Too many lines to think of but the three headed monkey is a main stay. Fave charecter? other than LeChuck....maybe Wally...you know what? I'm gonna play the original games now.

@ Sonic - I'll let you know! :3 I can't decide if I want to do EMI Guybrush (just since it's easier to hide the boobs for a girl), Tales guybrush, or go with a girl and do either Elaine or Morgan. X3

That's an old one. I remember playing the first and second games on my friend's Atari ST - It was one of my favourite games along with Prince of Persia at the time.

I never knew there were plans to re-release the series.

I liked that you could fully switch the re-make back to the older version at just one tap of a button. Means I can play it on a Vista computer without having to get the Scumm patch or anything like that. X3 (that and I also love Dom's voice FAR too much). Some of the graphics in the updated version kinda bugged me...most of all when he was climbing up and down things. Other than that it didn't really bother me. X3

OH! OH! Only 5 days until Chapter 3 of Tales of MI (PC version) is out too! Very Happy
