Well i live all the way in whangarei ( 2 hours up north from auckland.) So I'm not even sure if I would make it but if it's in northshore I could stay at a friends house.
Oo sunset but then again depending where i'm staying sunset might not be the best and sunrise would be to cold

I would join you in this activity but I find it rather sad and disrespectful.
Mainly because lately I have been to a few funerals and it just seems like this is a game to alot of people.

Sorry if this seems mean, I just think people should respect the dead and maybe just do it somewhere else. Funerals are touchy subjects for me.. and I am sure alot of people on here will agree.

Plus Kira deserved to die. lol

I personally find this whole idea offensive funerals are for people not for fictional characters and if you can't see that then that is sad, I don't know if you have every attended a funeral especially for a someone close to you but it is not something to joke about.

umm i find this really stupid. Yes Raito died...yes everyone cried i think but no..this should not happen at all. I love deathnote but this is ridiculous...sorry to sound harsh but seriously this is a joke.

Just to point out, if things go according to Unicef Japans (and their flagship Agnes-chan) plans then fictional characters will get some 'human rights'.
So comparatively it's not exactly as ridiculous or offensive as you might think (even if it is lol).

Hey um "people who find it offensive" I also went to lots of funerals this year, but some of us don't have to take everything seriously. If you find it offensive, then don't come - simple as that.

For the people who takes this offensively, I'm sorry for having you to read about this thread. (I'm serious, I'm not being sarcastic.)

But, this is not a joke. We aren't laughing over Light's death. Its Nel Teh Duckie xD's idea, its her choice to plan a funeral for a fictional character she likes. So maybe it just seems a bit stupid to make a funeral for a fictional character, and maybe to 'know the difference between fiction and non-fiction.'
But look at Cosplay. DUDE! REAL LIFE HUMAN ARE DRESSING UP AS FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. How much difference do we look at that?!
And if I think someone came up and said something like, 'Stop making fun of the characters ____ who created.' Making fun? No, we're not making fun of it. Nor we are laughing over at it, or even mocking it. Neither is Nel Teh Duckie towards Light's funeral. She's simply wanting to have a group gather for Light's funeral, its her decision. Its not crazy, if this is crazy, what would cosplay count?

I'm not saying that what you guys saying a wrong. Sure, every one has their own opinions, but please dont go by calling other people, 'crazy, insane' or 'finding it offensive' because what you say, may just hurt other people's feelings.

Cherileena im not offended that you people want to host a funeral for an anime person...but If the Actor or voice actor died then wouldn't it be a reason to have a funeral?.

Yeah it was her idea and all but to seek reason of this exactly why will you guys be saying about Yagami Raito. None of us knew him and no one can say they can because well he's a fictional character.

Most Funerals held have people who are really close to them e.g. family, friends and in laws. However What can we say besides what we have read from the manga and watched from the anime or movies?...

I just find this as a joke and ridiculous. If i was offended by it then i wouldn't have bothered posting on this thread.

Its the other's choice depending on what they want to say, he's a fictional character. Saying what we can say besides what we have read from manga and from the anime or movies, is just stating him more realisticly, no?
